Could someone name some of the popular 21" monitors? I'm thinking of upgrading from my 19".

It's not worth it, I'd go for a 17.4 or 18.1" LCD first before upgrading 19" to 21" CRT.

The FD Trinitron tube isn't junk. But for some reason Sony's corporate line of CRT monitors are poorly constructed.

yeah if you want to spend an extra 200 bucks 133% the cost of the G520, your eye doesn't register anything over 75hz anyway

Agreed. My Dell P991 has an FD Trinitron tube and it's awesome.

Sony doesn't design CRT monitors any more. They produce them at their factories (in China mostly, I think), but the whole design thing is left to some unknown company. Sony thinks it's just not the best time to invest in CRT monitors right now since their prices have fallen dramatically, thus we get much lower quality then we used to back in the days, but pay significantly less at the same time, of course.

I'm sure that you would get a much better picture with a Dell or even HP monitor for much less money...

Their LCD displays aren't that hot, either.

actually my monitor is right next to the wall in my house and the power lines in the wall are interfereing with my monitor signal so it shakes unless i crank it up to 100hz

You were just asking me the same question over and over again, and I chose not to reply. I wouldn't call that fighting.

Personally I prefer anything that uses the FD Trinitron tube. We have three monitors here at home with that tube (Dell P1110, Sony G400, Sony G200) that look absolutely brilliant compared to anything else my girlfriend and I have come across. I'd say the Diamondtron tube is a close runner-up, but we both agree that the overall image quality, sharpness/clarity, and brightness of a FD Trinitron tube is unparalleled.

Edit: spelling

I like the Sony and iiyama monitors. I find the Sony joystick mouse under the monitor to be a better control method then the iiyama's 3 button.

both the screens look good to me. My iiyama Vision Master Pro 450 has great specs. I love it. Better specs then the Sony one. The Sony one looks more stylish though......
