Well since you asked:
2000 AD Domain
IIS (http, ftp)
MS Exchange (smtp, imap, pop, instant messaging, web-based interface)
File Server
Lotus domino server (with Sametime)
Windows Media Server
etc. etc.

Plus I use the domain to test a host of things that I dont feel comfortable testing on the network at my office.

NMR-FAM at wisc.edu (Madison, Wisconsin) named all their computers/servers with the names of breeds of cow (holstein, etc... I really don't know that many cow varietals). If in hollywood area, you could use the technical name for various plastic surgeries.

In Oregon, I'd use the names of various famous tree-hugging hippies.... but I digress.

Mountains and rivers are good, there are so many, you can't run out of 'em easily. For home, why not planets? Sun is an easy one for the main server, but unless you gonna have a lot of machines, our solar system should be fine.

We use characters from Lord of the rings to name our servers:

Gollum
Gandalf
Frodo
Pippin
Elrond
Sauron
Wendigo
Riverdell
and a few more....

Edit: BTW, not that it matters, but this naming scheme was implemented years ago.... long before the movie came out.

Where I work now we have some matrix names
ie: neo, morpheus, trinity, etc

Gods are good: ie: hades

If its a large installation through cute names become a pain and its worth it to just have mail1.domain.com etc for servers and perhaps a location description for workstations such as adm2137 for pc 37, in room 21 or the administative building.

Almost forgot when I started with my web host they were using greek letters, they've moved into other alphabets now with over 300 servers check out this list of names

a friend of mine has Santa's reindeer: rudolph, donner, blitzen, etc.

I'm using the moons of Jupiter: Ganymede, Europa, Io....

other suggestions (I didn't read the whole thread so I don't know if they've been suggested already)

-Greek/Roman gods (maybe you could even have two subdomains, one with Roman gods and one with Greek gods)
-Cookie brands (Oreo, ChipsAhoy, Milano, etc.) (could extend to other types of food)
-Cities in your favorite state, region, country, etc.
-Streets in your neighborhood/town

One installation I was visiting used swear words in foreign languages.

I name our boxes whatever my favorite animated character is at that particular moment.

Wow. I'm still trying to figure out why you would need both a Lotus Domino server and an Exchange server in your apartment! What's wrong, can't decide what mail client you like better? :)

Anyway, I name my home computers by their dedeeming features. Like, if one of them was purple, I'd probably call that one "grape". Or, If one of them had dual processors, I'd call that one "dualie" or "twins". Or, if one of them looked like a refrigerator or a coffeemaker, I'd probably call them that. That way, visitors can figure out why you named them that way.

We have tons of naming schemes where I work.... the 7 dwarves, birds of prey (Condor, Falcon, Raptor, etc.), philosophers, some ST:TNG ones, but I personally use astronomy and star constellations.... I have Lyra, Cygnus, and Orion so far...

I like the Bond villain idea though, gotta steal that one! :D

I use the domino server for Sametime (not the mail capabilties).
I'm in the process of moving over to all exchange and soon I will not run the domino server at all, as much as I hate MSN messenger it runs good on an exchange server and integrates with AD whereas the Lotus Domino server does not. You know how much users like to have multiple passwords for the same orgainization...

We are entirely over to Exchange at my work, however there are a bunch of people who still use the domino server I have at home for sametime. In my humble opinion Sametime is the best instant messaging server/client out there, however it just doesnt integrate with an AD.

we use bond names for all our servers at work, we use the villans from the movies.
drax, mrbig, oddjob, bunt, mishka, grishka, dent, zorin, kaufman, jaws, plenty more....

I like the bond convetion the best however it would be confusing to have the same names in both places.
