So.. Nothing much has changed with the R1, ZX9 and GSXR1000. I think I recall Honda bumping the displacement on their bike again, but can't remember the number because they like the odd number thing. Wasn't it a 929 before?Well the middleweight class is where the real competition is right now.

The R1 was reengineered last year (Preview). The new R6 is based off this platform. Neither the ZX or GSXR have been significantly altered in the past couple years.Originally posted by: Salvador

Yea, its the 954RR now.I think I recall Honda bumping the displacement on their bike again, but can't remember the number because they like the odd number thing. Wasn't it a 929 before?
Correct, and yes.Nothing has changed in the open class either? Is the Hyabusa still the king of straight line weapons?
Ehh.. most sportbikes tend to look extremely similar. I don't think the Honda looks any more like the Yamaha than it does any other bike.Heh.. Thanks for linking the middle weight bikes. That new 600RR Honda looks exactly like a R6.
Oops, yea that's a typo. I had the right link, just read it wrong. :frown:Originally posted by: silverpig
Actually isn't it a 954RR from Honda?
Well.. Yamaha set the trend with those twin angular headlights on the R1 and R7 then Kawasaki and Honda followed suit. The angles on the new 600RR Honda look a lot like the R6 now.Ehh.. most sportbikes tend to look extremely similar. I don't think the Honda looks any more like the Yamaha than it does any other bike.

I think the Suzuki GSXR1000 is the hottest production bike out there, still, and has had the trophy for the past few years. But it's hard to settle on just one bike. Depends on how often & how far you ride. You need a crotch-rocket for wheelie fun, a cruiser for slow rides, a big touring bike for long distance runs, maybe one or two others to fill in the gaps.Originally posted by: Damage
The 2003 GSXR 1000 has been updated quite a bit actually.. New fairing and a bunch of internal engine mods..
Picture
I like the R1 for looks, the ZX9 for comfort (plus it's the sleeper of the group)....
My next toy is ganna be a cruiser.. maybe a V-max with a big comfy seat.....
