7800 gtx are about ~8000 for a single card and ~12000 for sli. in fact a 50% increase is about par for most games too.

50% isn't too bad... although, after checking around, it seems some people are getting like 70% increases?

I got around a 55% increase. ~9000 to ~14,000.

Did you post this over at Xtreme too? If you didn't than you must have a telepathic mind link with someone who posts over there or something.

His Opty at 3.0ghz sure helps. 3dmark05 seems to respond very favourably to cpu speed increases unlike 3dmark03.

with cards being as powerful as they are now.......CPU power is actually playing a part in 3D05, and the more powerful your graphics solution the more the CPU plays a part in the score

for instance.

i have a 3200 A64 venice and at stock speeds 2.0Ghz my SLI 7800GT's score 9500-9900 thats not much boost from the score 1 7800GT gets.

so...i overclocked my CPU, to (2.5Ghz which is what its running now) my scored in 05?.......went up to about 11,000 -11,200, so cpu power is now begining to have an effect on this graphics bench

Here is the compare link if you're interested. The cards can run at 550/1300 24/7 thanks to a voltmod by ViperJohn.

It has alot to do with your system components as well. CPU, video card, RAM, and mobo. CPU and mobo especially. When SLI was first introduced performance boost was maybe 10% in SLI over single card. Then it went to 25%, to 40%. Now it seems people are realizing 50%. Not sure I believe the 70% claims. Be nice if it gets that high. Also depends on which benchmarks you look at. Not all games realize the same performance increase. It seems to vary alot. The good news is that SLI is getting better. Hopefully the trend will continue.
