bought the Athlon II X3 435 a couple months ago and don't regret the buy, especially at 79CAD plus the fact that it finally unlocked to a Phenom II X4 B35!

i have a Q6600 and just got an AMD 620. i'm happier with my AMD 620 choice because i can't notice the difference in general performance, and the few seconds of encoding difference i can't notice/care enough to give a crap about. $99 quad core ftw.

i actually like my AMD setup: 620 + 5770 better than my Intel+NV setup: 6600 + 8800gt

Got a 3000+ Venice in my router and an Opteron 165 on a test system that both run flawlessly.

Athlon II x4, 2.8 GHz. 4 cores for less than $100 and I didn't even need to buy a new motherboard. Can't beat that.

Does it count if I use an old T-bred system as a makeshift storage table in my closet? :p

I did the same thing on my main rig but I still counted it as a Athlon II as the cache did not unlock, only the fourth core. Still, its been rock solid and has a 10% overclock to boot.

My MPC is running a Athlon 64 X2 3800, while my wife's PC is running an Athlon 64 3500.

I have an Athlon 64 3400+ lying around somewhere, plus I assembled a PC for my girlfriend which has a sleek Athlon II X4 635. That CPU, plus a Biostar motherboard for less than $139.00. Can't beat that, runs like a champ in CPU demanding games like Metro 2033 and Assassin Creed 2. The CPU box looks cool and the cooler is better than many Intel stock coolers in the Pentium 4 S775, Pentium Dual core era.

One who bent over to the dark side and bought a 980X. ;)

no need to go back and fix your post meghan. i know what you meant.

 Isn't that illegal in the states? :hmm:

An AMD Phenom II X2 555 BE (1009CPMW) unlocked to four cores @ 3.8GHz @ 1.442V. Got it for $52.15 + tax in a Fry's combo, :D!
