1055T in my sons rig, for now. I did see the 1100T on sale for 200.00 this morning, he might get an upgrade this weekend.

I replaced my unlocked Athlon II X3 for a Phenom II X4...
I know, weird move but I want to give a little more life in my current setup before upgrading to something trendy...

Geez the Amd IMC sucks. Amd are awefull with Super PI.

But you can notice the slightly better Northbridge and IMC in the different X4 models. Especially if you run some tight timings on it. But theyre Super PI scores is still a snails pace.

i'll add that, in addition to the two Phenom II rigs i'm running at home, i just built a new Phenom II X2 545 Callisto rig up at the office, and have successfully unlocked 2 cores to make it a Phenom II X4 B45 (X4 945 Deneb)...though i haven't OCed it, and will probably leave it at the stock clock. i should also note that's its been running stable crunching for Milkyway@Home @ 100% CPU load for almost 24 hrs now, and its undervolted to 1.296v (w/ Vcore set to auto in the BIOS, i was getting 1.4v)...

...before the core unlock:

she ran at 100% CPU load for over 24 hours without a hiccup. the max core temp i saw was 36°C (Core Temp only shows 35°C b/c i accidentally closed it, so i had to reopen it).

...and after the core unlock:
aftera.jpg

as you can see here via Core Temp, my CPU suffers from the common "0°C" bug in which, for some reason or another, core temps become unreadable after unlocking disabled cores. my high and low temps in Core Temp both appear as 0°C, as well as the current temp of each core as displayed by Core Temp in the system tray.common sense tells me that, leaving Vcore and clock speed unchanged, the CPU would generate more heat than before now that two more cores are running. but i also think its safe to assume that going from 2 cores to 4 cores also isn't going to push core temps into the 62°C+ danger zone either, especially considering i left clock speed alone and didn't need to raise Vcore. i don't have a picture of it, but i did run WCPUID HW Monitor and was able to get a reading on CPU temp (not core temp), which was hovering between 44°C and 46°C. and since Phenom II core temps generally read 5-10°C lower than CPU temps, i believe my core temps are still hovering between 34°C and 36°C...perhaps as high as 41°C. but that's fine with me.
