The Athlon XP Mobile were great overclockers, I had a XP 2500 Mobile which overclocked to 2.5Ghz easily. I thought it was the best CPU ever

Matter of fact, out of nostalgic reasons, I found myself browsing eBay for an Athlon XP Mobile and An Abit motherboard to build a system for kicks and giggles just for how much I miss my first build which I sold long ago when I moved on to the 939 platform back then

Well, AMD's current pricing is hard to resist. I am building a Phenom II X4 965 BE for work this week and after I try it out, I am considering building myself one too. a $100 in between that and the i920 for little performance gain is not a defeat in my opinion.

I almost forgot about the Socket 754 AMD Sempron 3100 Paris processor I used for a couple of years. It might of only had 1.8Ghz with a 256Mhz L2 Cache but it was quick, cool and mine overclocked upto 2.4Ghz

I just noticed that I also have one of my first custom built systems still running on an AMD AthlonXP 2500+ Barton. I miss those AMD days, now it's mostly Intel...hopefully a change is in order soon.

I think it would be nice if amd can release a 32nm version of PII but haven't heard they planned to do it at all. would be nice for power saving.
