I was born in Iran but moved here when I was 9 months old and haven't been back since. English was my first language, even though I can speak and converse in Farsi (but can't read or write). Also, I am Jewish as well.

Go Figure.

well, unless your parents became u.s. citizens before you were 18 or you applied yourself, your citizenship is from where you were born.

otherwise, you look like a green dollar sign to me.

I know I am an American, my Passport says so.

but i want to be like a Persian American or something like that, i want to have a title. I am jealous of African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Native-American.

nobody is really an American anymore.

Your an iranian. If people ask I say I'm german/italian, but most of the time it comes up for me it's refering to where my heritage is from and not what country I was born in. I don't understand why people think they are american. Only the native americans are really american. When military people give birth to people while stationed in lets say japan are their kids now japanese? Not really they'd probably call them american.

All this blah-american crap is excessive

I was born in America, which makes me a native American.

You're essentially America, though you could also say Iranian if you felt like it. I always laugh when people refer to themselves as irish, simply because their ancestors came over 3 generations ago. They're madly grabbing onto some feeling of uniqueness or specialness, and it's sad. I call myself Canadian because I'm a citizen (which is a must for refering to oneself in this sense), and also because I associate with Canada, and have lived there far longer, than England, even though I was born there and lived there until I was 6-7.

Iranian born here will live here. Parents came here 35+ years ago.

I am an American. Iran has nothing to do with my life now.

You live in Beverly Hills .. over there almost every other person is an Iranian and almost all of them are Jewish. You live in an area where you can say you are an Iranian-American. If you say that over here in VA then people will think twice about what you mean.
