Exactly. After a 10 minute demo/sales pitch they made some people think Mojave (Vista) sounded good. Well duh! That's what a sale pitch is suppose to do. Maybe if they would have advertised their sales pitch instead of how they tricked people they could have come up with a half decent ad for a change.

Some of the apple ads have their moments. The initial ones totally backfired for me. The PC was suppose to be a dumbass and I was suppose to identify with the mac. In the end, the PC came off as dorky but friendly, whereas the mac once again came of as an elitist art snob. They toned him down to a more friendly character later on and had the PC just stumbling and acting jealous so it started to work a little better. That doesn't take away from the fact many of the commercials are based on half truths...but at least when its over I'm thinking something other then "Man, the mac is a fucking dick."

I also thought that the problem with macs, they bill themselves as so easy to use. But the community seems to act like a bunch of elitist fucks that want to shit on you because you aren't part of their exclusive club. A more "we're here and we can help!" approach would be more useful if they actually want to increase market share and not just sit around being bitter all day. 😛

This ad for Microsoft is good in that it seems to be accurate regarding Microsoft's current business strategy: Flailing incoherently, leaving the user wonder WTF is going on and WTF was the point of all this?

I don't think it's that bad, it feels like an extract out of a Seinfeld episode, it's basically a commercial about "nothing", like a taste for things to come, that's why it says "future, delicious" at the end, at the very least it can make you laugh a bit and who knows, maybe they'll tie it in with a bunch of other commercials and they'll be great.

Don't take it so seriously, some of you guys are reacting like that episode insulted your mother.

Mojave is more a comment on the complete stupidity and ignorance of the buying public. I've encountered people like those in the ad that believe Vista to be a bad OS without ever using it.

I personally thought the commercial was amusing, first few times I saw it was definitely "WTF", it does what it was designed to do, though, it kicks off their campaign with something that gets your attention.

I don't get it, apple had great iphone ads, but failed at their Mac vs PC ads IMO.

The thing that Mac and Microsoft aren't getting is you need to do more to show people why it is a good idea to buy that brand. All apple does is try to make fun of MS, they don't show 1 second of a Mac, don't show any reason for people to change.

MS needs to do this also, show what you can do on Windows.

Different levels of quilt, concept rip-off verses source pirating. And Xerox 'invited' Apple to rip them off.

On a side note, I still have some of the MS documents that show that MS-DOS was pirated from CPM.
