I can only hope that Jump and MacBaine and some of the others advocating absolute rule of law by an infallible government end up in jail and penniless for some minor crime. It would serve you right.

It would serve them right to end up in jail and penniless for expressing their opinion about the law on an internet message board? Did you just wake up or something...you're not thinking straight?

They're perfectly free to voice their opinion, as am I. More and more activities are becoming illegal in this country. When the War on Obesity starts and they seize the homes and cars of those found eating a hamburger, don't coming running to me for sympathy

Except their opinions weren't personal in nature. How about this...Because of your opinion, I hope your mother contracts breast cancer and dies a slow, painful death...it's a little different from just attacking the idea, isn't it?

If my opinion were "People that get cancer must have done something to deserve it" then I'd be surprised if someone didn't wish it on me.

Fact is, the opinions here defending this kind of fraudulent seizure probably only think they way they do because it hasn't happened to them. Opinions change very quickly when you're the subject of a injustice.

Ok, that I can agree with. I still think it's a little silly to hope for bad things to happen to people who don't share your opinion...kind of immature.

Why's that? They're a part of the reason "the bad thing" is perpetuated. If they'd realize that they're defending something bad, maybe we could get rid of the bad thing. Unfortunately some people don't realize they're defending evil until they find themselves on the receiving end.

I see that even after all that, you still don't see anyone elses opinions as valid. "It's fine that they have opinions, but because they aren't the same as mine, they are wrong".

One of the reasons for a brain is to use it. Anybody who says the law is the law is the law is a parrot, not a thinker. The purpose of law is to order our lives in a way that gives us rules which help us function efficiently. We make law with the intention to make life better. Whose life? It's supposed to be everybodies life. That means that there must always be guestions as to whether a law is effective at it's intention. That means that people with opinions will have to interpret and judge laws and think about them. We change laws and create new ones all the time. Laws are concretized bits of wisdom that we add to and subtract from all the time as circumstance and experience work their slow evolution. There is nothing sacred about a law. They are meaningless if you were to find yourself totally alone. Do you waste gas at a stop light in the middle of the night when the sensor that's supposed to know you are there and switch the light is broken and only a three minute timer works instead?

Everyone is entitled to opinion. That doesn't mean that some of them aren't wrong.

If you are using illegal drugs I would like to know why you feel that you must use them

Hope you don't drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes, or drink caffinated beverages.

So who's to say that yours isn't?

You're not getting a check Gaard. You went and assumed that bober really wanted those guys to suffer when the whole point is that because they are naive and don't realize it could happen to them, they dream that they are immune, that only bad people get screwed. Ordinary everyday people get ground up and spit out by the system every day. They are the sadder, but wiser.

Well the good news, Gaard, is that is by some freak of fate it did happen to them, we could all instantly relax. We would automatically know just from the fact that they got caught up in the system that they were guilty.

And the bad news?

Oh wait, I already know what the bad news is. No check for Gaard ;)
