I'm on vacation this week, kicking, relaxing, just enjoying life. Well a friend of mine comes over and we're talking about what we got for Christmas. She shows me a necklace her boyfriend of 7 months got her for Christmas. It's a nice white gold thing with several small sapphires, her birthstone, and one large sapphire. As she is showing it to me she says "Now that I have this thing I can break up with <boyfriends name>" I ask her if she's kidding and she says "No, I've been planning on doing it for a couple of months now. I knew he got me this for Christmas so I stuck with him so I could get it." Well anyway she's planning on dumping him after New Years. Why after New Years? Because she is going to some badass exclusive party at one of the country clubs here with him. I'm appalled. I would expect this from some teeny bopper or college bitch, but this girl is 33. I'm tempted to call her boyfriend and warn him even though I've only met him a few times and I've known her since high school. I never thought she was this way. What a bitch!!!

Wow, Uber-bitch type of stuff there.. I wouldn't say anything if you expect to talk to either of them again, but then again, after somebody says something like that, do you want to hang out with that type of person.

I've known this girl for years and she's never acted like this before. I know, because she called me crying all the time, in the beginning of her relationship with this guy they had some problems but that only lasted a couple of months and everything has been fine since then. Her actions and what she was telling me today just totally blow my mind. I feel a loyalty to her because we've known each other for so long and been through so much together, but I don't think I could stand myself if I don't tell the guy he's about to get shafted big time. Of course it's probably too late since she already has the necklace. Who knows? I think I'm going to look up his phone number and give him a call.

dunno, if i were you i would just stay out of it. he's not going to know what to think, she'll get pissed at you, it'll be a huge mess. not worth it imo.

I'm curious, have you actually told your friend your feelings about the situation? Does she have any clue that you disapprove of what she has done and is about to do? I'd think the BEST thing to do would be to talk to her and tell her that she's something that is very wrong. Pretty simple, AFAIK.
I tried that while she was here. In fact that's why she left. I was telling her I thought she was acting like a whore and she got mad and stomped out of my house.

That's what is really odd. In all the years I've known her, about 16, she has never acted this way. She's never asked for anything from me and when we were in college, different colleges, I found out she was flat ass broke and sent her a check for $250. She sent it back saying thanks but that she could never take money from anyone.
