We've got a "cool" President

That's not true. President Clinton was offered bin Laden but the bin Laden family paid off the "heavies" and he, bin Laden, was allowed to escape.

Latter when bin Laden was IDed Clinton used curse missiles to to attack his training base and allowed bin Laden to escape.

Clinton also attacked buildings in the Sudan and Iraq. I guess Clinton really hated the night cleaning crews because that is all he killed.

Exactly what I am talking about. Had Bin Laden not been at the compound, Republicans would be bashing Obama for attacking a family home in Pakistan. And if something bad happened to the Navy Seals, they would have bashed Obama for Black Hawk down.

Just to be accurate.....9/11 was the fault of these muslim radicals, but it happened in the Bush Administration and is ALL his. He, Bush, had the opportunity to make drastic changes for the good of all mankind and failed.

He pushed through that so called Patriot Act....it isn't.

He screwed up the war in Iraq/War on Terror (which it isn't) exactly like another Texan, LBJ, screwed up the war in Vietnam. a nation can not, repeat can not, have both "guns and butter" at the same time. Pick one.

Are Presidents should be smart. the last three have not bee. Obama, Bush and Clinton are about as dumb as Presidents can get.

Bush(41) missed one of the greatest opportunities in history.....so he's a dumbie, too.

Obama ended Iraq war and killed bin Laden.

Yes, a failure with the attack on bin Laden would have been Obama's fault but he would have thrown everyone he could find under the bus and the MSM would have protected him.

As far as Black Hawk Down is concerned, the only error there was Clinton pulling out. He was good at taking those out of the mix that were actually getting things done. He, Clinton, had the Marines taken out of Somalia and Hatti for.....get this....being too violent! We Marine loved that. We are. That is what we do, violence.

President Obama had to have the specter of Operation Eagle Claw in mind as he ordered the attack, knowing full well a similar outcome would end his political career. His order to proceed took more guts than you will ever admit.

"We Americans don't want a "cool" president. We want a competent one. One who believes in individual sovereignty, personal liberty, free enterprise, a growing and productive private sector, the Declaration and the Constitution. We want a competent president who respects America's laws, its founding, morals and traditions."

This quote from the OP's article struck me as complete bullshit. I mean, OK, yes, obviously we want a competent person in the office of President. But I also remember a lot of people saying how they'd like to "have a beer" with Bush. This mindset of a President the people can relate to or feel like they could hang out with is not something that started with Obama. Hell, Clinton ran as the "cool" guy jamming out on the sax on Arsenio against the fuddy-duddy wimp of GHWB. The idea that Americans don't want a cool president is wrong. We shouldn't want a cool President... but that doesn't mean that we don't.

Wow... you were able to put down the xbox controller long enough to type all that?
Really? This is the best you could come up with? Yawn.

First off, my drone comment was in response to others claiming obama killed bin laden. Which as you know he did not. It was a concerted effort which was underway well before obama took office. It was merely to make a point.
Yet a bipartisan cross section of knowledgeable people feel his decision to authorize this mission rather than something "safer" like a bombing strike showed good leadership and deserved commendation. The fact that you "know" better, that you cannot even cede a little credit to Obama, serves only to document your own blind partisan hatred for him. Hatred is an irrational emotional reaction by the way, not something to be proud of.

Since I see it got your panties all wadded up.... I will take note.
Those are your panties dear. You've confused anger with mockery.

The drone incident, continued hacking incidents by foreign powers, and subsequent inaction by our government does reveal a lot about it''s priorities. A government which is led by obama.
Ooh! The hatred. It burns!

ROFLMAO

What, pray tell, would another President do differently? How would you propose responding when a country like China engages in cyber espionage? Do you bomb them? That will go over well. Sanction them? Foolishly sanctioning China would only have a devastating affect on our economy.

Engage in covert counter-cyber espionage? There's a great idea, but it's a damn sure sight that we're not going to announce it to the world. Don't be an idiot. You have ZERO clue what the intelligence community is doing in response to these cyber attacks. None. Nada. Zilch. It's not the kind of information they're going to share on Fox or whatever other nutter sites you use to feed your rage and reinforce your brain-washing.

Cool? Style over substance? That is what obama will be campaigning with again.
If you've got it, flaunt it. Funny that you didn't seem to have similar concerns with Bush 43's country boy schtick. Whatever, Obama's "style" is certainly a stark contrast to the fence post that is Romney.

And forgive me if I say something that is not complimentary of obama. I forgot the purpose of this forum was to praise our dear leader. God forbid I get labeled a racist for not doting on obama.
Ahh, po' baby. Now you're just lying because you're all butt-hurt. The only one who said you can't criticize Obama is you. In contrast, I said there's plenty of good reasons to criticize him and his administration. The problem is the nutter fringe ignores those good reasons in favor of the stupidest, most vacuous, most immaterial, emotional tripe they can find. Blaming Obama for the drone hijacking, for example. It's all about the hatred and has nothing to do with Obama's performance.

ROTFLMAO!

He did not, repeat, NOT order the attack. Leon Panette did.
Revisionist history at its best. Not that we'd expect anything else from the denizens of Flower Mound...

edit: care to explain how President Obama, Secretary Clinton, et al, happened to be sitting in Leon Panetta's War Room in the now-famous photographs?

Operation Eagle Claw was FUBAR from day one.

It was an ill conceived operation by a President that had no idea what he was doing.

The taking of our Embassy, sovereign US territory, and our citizens was an overt act of war and should have been treated as such. President Carter was then and continues to this day to be a dick.

Excellent post, thanks. Too often the left tries to argue that the mainstream media is not overwhelmingly liberal, or even that it is conservative.
Did you actually read it? This wasn't a forum for all journalists, or even a balanced cross-section of journalists. It was a hand-picked group of "400 'left-leaning' journalists, academics and others." It was by design a left-wing echo chamber where a miniscule subset of journalists chatted with each other and with other leftists. It was a virtual bar where like-thinking colleagues gathered to shoot the breeze.

What it isn't is evidence of that the mainstream media is "overwhelmingly liberal." It is evidence there are a sizable number of liberal reporters ... but we already knew this. Unfortunately for the conspiracy theorists, the one thing reporters are overwhelmingly is peons. They may write the stories, but it's the editors and owners who decide what stories to write and what they look like once published. This clip tells us nothing about the political inclinations of the people who direct the media's focus and tone.

This is true - especially if you have a massive choir backing you up while pretending to be neutral.
Yes, the right is so badly victimized. 🙄

Bu... bu... but Carter!!! 1980 called. It wants its campaign propaganda back. 🙄

Rage on, son, rage on!

Why? That's easy. I, as with most serious Americans, wants a stiff but competent and effective President vice a cool and detached (Golf and vacations) President.

Haha The reason our country is in aess is that we have the Republican party that has gone batshiit crazy. Power has become an end in itsels to them, not how to better the country. We have a Karl Rove PAC (who brought us the likes of Bush Cheney, the War in Iraq and this disaster of an economy) who is part of the republican party who brough us Sarah Palin placing ads on a cool and uncompetant president who is destroying the economy. If that isn't hilarious in itself. Then we have THE repub candidate for President who has off shore accounts. Are you kidding me? How can you love America and hide your money off shore. How can you reign in wall street abuses when you abuse the system, It's like a cast of crazies. I respect them though cuz they have half the country believing they care about them. Well maybe that says more about Americans.

Four years, no turn-around? Seriously? Hey but he's cool so he's a shoe in for another four years!

No turnaround? Are you smoking something?
Do you even remember what was happening when Obama took over? We were talking about a coming second Great Depression. Now we are complaining that the recovery isn't fast enough.
That's like someone getting shot, having their life saved by a doctor, and then saying they'd rather get shot again because they aren't happy with the pace of recovery.

That's right. There is 25 months of private sector job growth. That's 4.1 million jobs, they report.

LOL!

So we have gone backward for a total of over a million jobs. That 4.1 million jobs over a 25 month period isn't even enough to keep up with population growth.

LOL!

Great recovery................................NOT!

There are millions fewer with jobs today than when this Fool, Bobo, the Post Turtle, took office.
