Ok... first off, I didn't mean to say that you would do this on a monthly basis, just correcting what thereds was saying (in a sarcastic witty way of course). I'm sure what you're doing is out of good will, and there are a lot of people that need this kind of service. If I were to do the same thing you are doing, you bet I'm not gonna do it for free, and I doubt that many people here would either. So lay off on her donating her eges, it's good both ways.

On a more serious question, I know you said no sex for 2 months, but can you still rub one out? :D

She needed money, but she didn't do it entirely for the money. She actually went in to inquire about it, and they told her she'd get money for it, and she didn't object.

It's cool and all with me, I just don't see the claims of all the innocence.

In general, that does appear to be the trend (in terms of how porn stars get to where they are now, I guess).

However, I really don't see how that applies to me. If, by an occasional photoshoot, you've derived I turn into a prostitute, I suggest you seriously reevaluate your logic.

I would have a problem selling by body on a streetcorner, but this is different.

Also... I think a lot of people are noticing my Vegas threads and putting them together with this thread. Please keep in mind, I applied to be a donor OVER A YEAR AGO, and have been on a list to help infertile couples since pre-poverty days. :) After waiting over a year, they finally matched me with a couple... hence, the bad timing, as Millenium noted. Nonetheless, I'm going to go through with it and feel good about doing it with what support and kind words I do receive.

She didn't "donate" it for a small fee, she "sold" it for a small fee.

Some people just aren't meant to have children... what'd they do years ago when they couldn't buy people's eggs and have other people's babies? I guess they either adopted or had no kids.

20-50 is what I've heard. You have to basically be perfect physically and mentally in order for them to accept it though

why? i'd think they'd just look at things that get determined by genetics.

eye color, skin color, hair color, and facial features...

You have to take written tests and interview as well. They have to make sure that you are very intelligent. No woman wants to plunk down 10k for retard sperm

why dont she just pay me directly, and i'll do the honors? ;)

Does anyone know anybody else who's gone through the process of egg donation?

I'm researching all the potential side effects now, but I 80% sure I'm going to go through with it.

Tomorrow = psych evaluation, then I start the meds.

Do you owe the Mafia money or something?

Dezign, don't get me wrong, I think it's wonderful that you're doing this to help a couple...

One question I have though, or maybe one consideration that bothers me about the whole process is this:
Why is the couple infertile?

There's an answer to that question that really bothers me on a moral level... If the couple is infertile because of sexual promiscuity, (plenty of STD's cause infertility, and plenty of STD's are spread regardless of the protection used), then you're risking your own fertility and future chance of having children to help a couple that is suffering the repercussions of their own behavior.

I of course recognize there are many reasons for infertility... but if this was the reason why for that particular couple, I think I'd have a hard time taking that risk for them. OTOH, if I knew a couple that lost the ability to have a baby due to some unfortunate accident or something, I doubt I'd even care at all about the money.

Here is a message board for donors/recipients I am posting on for support and advice.

If you read through some of the posts made by those who desperately want to have a child of their own, perhaps you'll have a better idea of where I'm coming from.

If you want to help that bad why not do it for free?

Agreed.

Why don't you go without sex for 2 months, have estrogen pumped into you, than have a needle injected into your testicle to draw out tissue out of the goodness of your heart?

No way I would do it for free and probably would not do it for 10k either.

Why not cut her some slack?

I wouldn't do it regardless...

So you are heartless then?

No sir I am not. I just don't think that I could ever release part of me and not have anything to do with the kid.

$7000 and up for this one company. Some individuals pay $10-100,000 according to the article. http://www.dailyillini.com/jan03/jan28/news/stories/campus01.shtml
Once again, it's proven that there are gender bias towards men. I'm sure there are beeelions of sperms in a cup, and given the survival rates, them sperms still has a good chance, but still nothing compare to an egg. Geez... talking about equality.

it's affirmative action because we have fewer eggs :p

I'd be thrilled to meet him or her, and wouldn't mind being apart of his/her life. :) However, I believe this couple has opted for an anonymous donation, which I respect.

in all seriousness, what if they are wackjobs? do you get to know anything about who will be raising your genetic child?

Why would she care? It's not her child.

Youre not living in poverty.

I personally wouldnt do it (if I was able to), and I dont see why anyone would want to do this for a random person (besides the whole money thing). If it was a couple very close to you I might be able to see, but still it would be too weird for me. Anyway, its your body, do whatever, but I'd think really hard before doing something like this. IMO make the decision as if you werent getting any money. Money might seem like a big deal, but it isnt at all (especially in comparison to the potential consequences).

Don't forget about the flipside to this, think about the families who can't conceive, donated eggs can be an absolute blessing to a family just dying for a child to love :)

Good luck. It takes a lot for someone to give any part of themselves up, evn if they get paid for it. And more than that it is her perrogative to sell her eggs even if she was only doing it for money. I hope everything goes well, and that there are no lasting complications later in your life caused by this, which would be my main concern.

However, I really don't see how that applies to me. If, by an occasional photoshoot, you've derived I turn into a prostitute, I suggest you seriously reevaluate your logic.

I guess I should have explained that further.....

The deal is once you figure a way to make easy money, the next time you usually want more and you have already set a new level on things previously you told youself you'd never do...so it gets easier.

The problem is once you go down some of these paths you have now screwed yourself out of 'better jobs' in that line of work. Those tickle fetish, etc types can do that....easy money, but those are more likely to get exploited (sold to each and every website/magazine that will buy) than a 'real' softcore porn shoot which is worth 10x the cash and has perhaps enough assets behind it to make a lawsuit get them worried. It's a dirty business and a clean one, depending on what door you walk through. One of the groups of women I hung out with in high school loosely persued these things, a lot of what they did reminds me of the things your are doing (shooting for the nice apartment, the fun on the weekends, school, and entertainment industry (one of the girls ended up dating Vince Neil of Motley Crue when they were at the top 1990 or so)....two of that group went on to become playmates, several modeling (from department store to XXX), and a couple actresses.

Consider a lot of porn (not famous, but those semi-famous types, that actually have the looks and ability to go farther) actresses....they try out for 'regular' roles and get shot down due to the porn background or go for a playboy centerfold type position and while playboy does 'feature' porn stars, not too many are made into the centerfold.

For a woman that would like to make the easy cash that comes with taking their clothes off (I have no problems with that by the way), it's best to shoot for the holy grail first and then look other places if it's out of reach. A playmate may only get $50-100k or whatever for that one shoot, but the opportunities from it are probably worth a easy million over a couple years.

Do you have what it takes to be a playmate? I am not sure, you definitely don't fit their mold....but asian's are becoming 'trendy' now (I hate when people say to me "I got to get me a Jap wife too"
rolleye.gif
) so who knows.

The egg thing is good money, however saying it's easy money I wouldn't....there is also a risk to future pregnancy (at least when I studied this 10 years ago, of course medicine improves everyday)....

I just don't by into the little miss innocence persona *blink blink*.... I think you are a big girl ;)....so what I'd do is really sit down and see where you want to go with things and shoot for that.

You know you have the looks and 'character' for the jobs (you got half of ATOT running around wagging their tails slobbering on the rest of us ;) ). Make a real plan with your goals, and if that's just being able to hit Vegas each weekend with a few hundred bucks while paying everything else then that's the plan. :)

Don't take my stuff as preaching, but rather advice (and loose advice at that...I have made some pretty terrible decisions in my past)...although sometimes it's hard to tell the difference in text.
