WESTINGHOUSE 37" 1080p LVM-37W3 $989 @ mwave

But, be sure to note...........only 1 HDMI! (shrug?)

Still waitin' for that $500 40" LCD to come around! 😛

On this particular item MWave should be better than Newegg because Newegg's policy on displays this big isn't very good (basically once you sign for it they won't do anything for you, plus their 8 dead pixel policy). MWave is far from bad and I would recommend them. At least they've managed to not turn to crap like Monarch and ZipZoomFly did.

Whoa shipping is cheap for me.

$13.88 for Ground. Awesome 🙂

It also helps that I live near by. Been to Mwave a couple of times. Nice place.

What's wrong with ZipZoomFly? ( besides the crappy search 🙂 )

They've gone down the tubes. Service is basically non-existant. I'm not sure what all happened but their resellerratings has taken a major dive and there has been a thread or two about it on here. Also, I've kinda always heard that they're great until you need to return something, but luckily never had to myself.

aawesome deal.
this monitor is insane.. ive had one for about 2 months.
best 1000 bucks ive ever spent. 🙂

What would be an optimal viewing distance for a display like this? I want to finally replace my analog 20" in my bedroom (before they stop broadcasting analog!). It's lasted 18 years, so I got my money's worth. I figure a real quality 1080p display stands a chance of being satisfactory for a good long time, if it's the right size and supports the technologies needed.

Meh...bought mine from the Egg for just under $1200 (shipping was $99).

Difference for me is that I have a Newegg Account, so I just threw it on there.

Man, I've read WAY too many positive reviews on this one. Considering I was thinking of buying the 24 inch BenQ or Gateway for $600-$700, for just $300 more, I get almost 50% more screen area. Ok, for $1019 shipped, I'm in. Let's hope it lives up to the hype.

my desk it not big enough. with this behemoth, im sitting 4 ft away with wireless kb n mouse. kb on lap. mouse on a pedestal. hanging it on the wall is a better choice, but not an option at the moment.

i sit about 3-4 ft away.
im so used to it know.. i was worried before i got it that it was too big etc.
but i was blown away... and still am. its perfect for me.

I am also in the market for Westinghouse LVM-37W3 37" LCD TV. I have been reading expert reviews and that has been useful to me. It may be help you too. I had been using PCWorld.com, cnet.com to find reviews. Yesterday I also used PriceGrabber?s expert review tab (http://www.pricegrabber.com/info_expertreviews.php/masterid=18577153) and found a site (http://www.smartratings.com/) that aggregates expert reviews. It only covers a few categories but it is pretty neat. Just my $.02.

i never trust cnet reviews, their user reviews are almost always better (more accurate) than the editors rating.... i honestly think they hire tech-ignorant writers for their skill with the pen, not the gadget
