Yah know, I've never had a bad hard drive company, and I've bought segate, maxtor, samsung, WD, etc.

IMHO, they're all okay except for the "DeathStar". That drive truly did suck.

[grammar nazi hat on]
BTW, shouldn't be "Western Digital area bunch of retards"? Your (ad)verb doesn't match up with your adjective.

Well now that you mention it, shouldn't there be a space between "are" and "a"? Also, "retards" is a plural noun, not an adjective. The adjective form would be "retarded." As in: "You are retarded." :D

EDIT: Oh yeah, and you missed an "it" in your first sentence there. "Shouldn't it be...."

Deathstar is a thing of the past. The Hitachi drives are head and shoulders above that mess.

That being said, I've had 8 Maxtor drives die in the past 8 years, and generally avoid them. I've got 30 Raptors (36GB and 74GB variations) and have only lost 1 in the past 2 years or so. 80 or so normal (both IDE and SATA) WD HDs in service right now, none of which have had problems.
