Bigger and bigger, faster and faster until it's a mammoth, unstoppable orb of doom, pulverizing anything that gets in it's way with the ease of a hot knife through butter.

It's like the world as I know it has turned from a flower into a turd, and I'm watching it spiral downwards in a flushed toilet.

You know, i tried that when i was a kid.... know wha happened?? The damn thing went about 2 feet and stopped..

no unstoppable orb of doom.. no laying waste to the kids on the pond at the bottom... Just a lot of disappointment..

🙁

Was talking with a friend this weekend who works for a major defense contractor in TX. His health insurance premiums are increasing because his company has decided to grant health benefits to non-married partners of homosexuals. Of course, this coverage does not include boyfriends and girlfriends of heteroxsexual employees.

Fair?

My company too.

Alan Keyes is rabidly against homosexuality but his daughter is homosexual, so is Cheneys, ummm, i see a pattern. :Q

Yeah, I sure hope God saves us all in the purifying fire of armageddon before those f@gs get treated like EQUAL HUMAN BEINGS.

Go to hell MichaelD.

You've been the e-badass of these forums for far too long.

Bigot....

Sorry dude, i'm with him on that one. it's probably just the product of my 16 years of catholic school education coming out, but I don't think homosexual couples should get the same benefits that straight couples get.

and why not? are they less of a human being cuz they are homosexual?

Now, I'm come to think that gay unions (same thing legally as marriage BUT called something else) are okay, but what about gay adoption? What if two homosexual men want to adopt a baby boy and only a baby boy? Should that be allowed?

wtf does that have to do with anything? if they want a baby boy and considering neither are sex offenders, why shouldnt they be allowed a baby boy? just cuz they are gay doesnt mean the boy's gonna end up being gay too. i believe homosexuality is something you are born with, not learned.

Throw in pollution, destruction of the ozone layer, greenhouse effect, depleting natural resources, and others to name a few and I think we have a list worth worrying about. Humans are the most destructive beings on this Earth so it doesn't surprise me that doom is near ...

kinda reminds you of the Matrix (the only good one) when agent Smith is talking to Keanu about how humans are like viruses consuming the host... kinda true in a way.

Ah, yup. True as true gets.

So many replies...so little time to reply.

There are so many replies in this thread that I would just LOVE to stomp all over....er, reply to, but I'll try to be...calm. Serene, even.

Damn liberal tree hugging i love you- ass wimpy limp wristed never shot a gun or killed any animal for food purposes wear my pink Aids ribbon in memory of my partner because my God said so from the burning pile of pig poo so I can buy Martha Stewart stock in order to stop nuclear power on Arbor Day but only because my mother and her partner Pat said so because I'm a boy or a girl and I don't know undecided WUSSIES.

I think, in the end, we'll find out that George Orwell was the most prophetic man in history...

Edit: I just hope I die in the last revolt against such tyranny.

And I'll be right there with you.

"Republican Dog Man?" Heh, last time I heard anything like that, it was from an elderly man from Cuba. He called me "American Dog Pig." Interesting parallel, there.

I am truly awed, AT; my mini rant on things that absolutely sadden me has turned into a full-fledged melee on everything from A to Z. 😀 Go for it! Debate like this is healthy. We all have our beliefs; but in this country (the USA) we strive to ensure that those we elect to power share our agenda. That's what makes this the greatest country in the world!

Granted; those we elect don't always "follow the pattern." I.E. who knew that Clinton's pecker would ultimately eclipse the Country's Needs in Billy's eyes?

Our country is at an interesting crossroads in time/history. It's my personal opinion that the next 10 years will dictate the fate of mankind as we know it; and we are going to make that decision...good or bad...the USA will lead the charge. Whether that be toward peace and prosperity or pissing off the North Koreans and they nuke the world remains to be seen.

The Middle East will just keep blowing itself up...forever. They are an enigma. Despite whatever happens in the world around them (world war, world peace, blue light special in aisle 23..." nothing changes there. They deserve themselves, IMHO.

I just hope that I don't see the end of mankind via nuclear war in my time. That said...nuclear weapons have been around a long time and they are here to stay. Anyone that believes that when countries sign "disarmament" or "inventory reduction" agreements that they are actually DOING that is fooling themselves.

The USA and it's allies/enemies still have 10x the power needed to blow our pretty blue marble in space into smithereens. It's called "Detante." I think I spelled that correctly. French word for "Everyone is pointing a loaded gun at everyone else's head and that's what keeps everyone in check."
