We just need to tell them all the planet is doomed...tell them we are building 3 spaceships to take all of humanity off of our doomed planet to a new one...load them on a spaceship where they are cryogenically frozen until they get to the new planet we are all going to inhabit...then send them off by themselves, telling them that the rest of us will catch up. 😉

My point is change is inevitable. Change is good, sometimes hard, but always for the better. Change comes in many forms: civil rights, equality within the workplace, women's right to vote, and, yes, even gay rights and marriage (gasp!).
Are you against civil rights? Do you believe blacks (and other minorities) don't deserve the same rights you and I enjoy? Seems bizarre to think that way, doesn't it? Well, years from now we'll be saying the same thing about gay marriage.
It's not that bad, man. Just a matter of perspective.

You know, I was thinking whether or not I should post this, but you know what, since there's so many of you that posted in this thread, I guess I should give it a go...
I'M TOTALLY SICK OF ALL OF YOU SICK, INTOLERATE, BIGOTED, BIBLE THUMPING, CONSERVATIVE aholes. I'm totally sick of hearing and reading about this sh!t. Dude if you seriously think that the world is crumbling because of the reasons you've stated above, think again; try to look at yourself in the mirror sometimes, you and the rest of your friggen country have been bullying everyone who lives on this earth for quite some time. You think that you're all powerfull cuz ur friggen american? Cuz you adhere to a certain lifestyle that is considered normal by your society? You think that everyone should act, think and live the same way you do? You think that because you are part of the country with the single most powerful military and with the biggest economy in the world that you could dictate to those that have a different lifestyle than yours how to live their lives? You think that you're so different than those barbaric fundamentalists in the middle-east (and in the rest of the world) that kill people simply because they don't live like them? You're exactly like them. Why should americans be afraid at the nuclear capability of the countries stated above when the US has the biggest amount of nukes and has actually used them. You know, sometimes negotiating and developing ties with other countries isn't that bad, instead of creating enemies because you didn't think alike and they didn't beleive in the same things you beleived in.
Instead of talking out of your @ss, why don't you read a bit and discover what this world has to offer. Stop listening to the BIASED CRAP that you see on tv. Start reading about other cultures and other countries, hey maybe you could also visit those countries too. Heck, you might even become fascinated at how the world is so different.
You will also see how much suffering there is around the world and how wars (whether or not they are effective) affect people's lives. You might even apprecieate the security you have and the comfort you have in your own country.

Of course with Ashcroft and the people who support his mentality, that day seems closer. Americans won't revolt against it. Does anyone think Oceania will come about through violence? No, we will embrace it to save us from "ists" or "isms". Those who oppose it will be ostracised as "unpatriotic" or "enemy combatants" and whatever administration promotes it will have no trouble subverting or eliminating the Constitution if need be. On that day the Flag will be a symbol used to cow those choosing freedom over security. We will gladly turn to the govt. to save us. We already are heading that way.
