Went to Walmart. Bought some Legos

I've been making random structures with my roommates and performing whatever types of analysis we know how to do on them...or whatever you want to call it.

Four engineering majors+legos=crazy procrastination

Legos are awesome. Loved to make towers and spaceships. I always tried to make them as indestructible as possible.

The Lego company estimates that in the course of five decades it has sold some 400 billion Lego blocks. Annual production of Lego bricks averages approximately 20 billion (2×1010) per year, or about 600 pieces per second. To put this in context, if all the Lego bricks ever produced were to be divided equally among a world population of six billion, each person would have 62 Lego bricks.

???

I remember that George Carlin quote, that all mother nature created humans for was so that the earth could have plastic. Looks like Lego is tackling this feat single handed.

Sounds like you guys are still partying like its 1999, only you were 9 in 1999 so you just still playing with legos.

You shoulda went to TrU (or online) buy 1 get one 50% off. I was just there yesterday.

LEGOs? Man... mine kid has BUCKETS AND BUCKETS full of them. I used to LOVE them, now they are the pox upon my house.

lego blocks used to be the best shit ever...so creative. now all these themes and proprietary parts take the imagination out of them

I loved building with those things.
Now legos keep my kids quiet for hours on end building things.

you can still get the old, simple blocks. But I'll say no brick is "proprietary". In fact with all the specialized parts, the shit you can build now is amazing and MUCH broader than what you could 10, 20 even 30 years ago.

We have a whole suitcase full of them at my parents from when I was little. I never made the stuff in the kit it came with but made my own things. cars, spaceships, all kinds of things.

My daughter plays with the big size legos but we have to get her switched over to the small ones.

Make this:

loool that is awesome.

Man I remember lego and knex, used to always build stuff with those. I think my best accomplishment was a wind powred crane that was like 8 feet tall. I would put the fan in front of it and it would lift up weights. Was kinda fun to make. Gears are awesome to play with.

I also remember building airplanes out of lego and purposely making them crash by dropping them mid air to the cement floor. I used to make all the seats inside with people in them lol. Surprised I did not grow up to be a terrorist. 😛

Remember making the space ships, and if a part broke off, you would land and then have the little guys make repairs 🙂
