went to Trader Joe's for the first time

They've got some good stuff, and the prices aren't as bad as you might think. We have one about 40 minutes from us and we'll make a pilgrimage now and then. The last time, though, I went specifically looking for some good jerky because I had heard theirs was good, and it turned out to be awful. Most of the stuff we get there is pretty uniquely great, though.

TJ's wine is good.
I think it's $3.50 a bottle now, for good wine that is a steal. With 10% case discounts, it is easy to enjoy wine with every meal.
The rest of their stock is overpriced hipster feed though imo. Sure you might find something tasty, but you could find the same at any big grocery (nearest one to me has 4 isles of frozen).
A poster above mentioned less than adequate chicken in a meal. I buy some of the frozen meal bags and frozen chicken breasts. Fry up the breasts and add to the mix, and you've got a great meal.

I noticed the term vegan cheese in the top post. I may google it but I'm afraid of what I'll read about it. I like Trader Joe's btw. It's where I first got Smart Balance spread (a healthy kind of margarine) and it tastes good. But Smart Balance's attempt at a healthy mayonnaise didn't work so well for me as far as taste.

I feel lucky to have a TJ's two blocks from my house and 3 other TJ's within a 2 mile radius.

TJ is nice, but is not a one stop shop for groceries which limits how often I go. They are opening one less than 2 miles from my house, so that should help (the previous one was less than 4 miles...so it isn't that big of an upgrade).

I like their veggie hummus wraps. Good source for organic yogurt too.

I got there when I visit my parents. Otherwise, the closest one is about 1.5 hrs away. Costco is where I usually get my meats, but they're about 35 mins away. Food 4 Less is where I'll do quick grocery shopping, but they're always in the ghetto so I try to avoid it as much as possible.
