Went to gun range for the first time today

me and my pals went to the Gun Range for the first time today. After a 20 minutes intro course, I fired my first round from a loaded Glock Pistols (9mm). Man was it load, and the recoil shooked me. I wasn't expecting the shell to fly off in my direction from the gun either. It's really hard to shoot quickly and accurately at the same time.

The 9mm Glock shouldn't kick too much. Glocks are typically lighter and have more recoil than other equivilant caliber weapons though. I fired a .45 Glock once, that has some kick to it.

Hope you had fun. 🙂

I fear for the future of mankind when people such as you, who can't even speel correctly have access to bang guns. God help us all. 🙁

no see he can spell fine but while shooting the glock he broke a nail and now can't type straight.....

speaking of straight.....

Well anyway let's hope his secret santa got him some Lee press-on nails.

Glocks are fun. It takes a few hundred rounds fired before you can shoot quick AND accurately and then everybody at the range will be scared of you!

Good times! 🙂

so everyone who shoots a glock or any other gun for the first time shouldn't be shocked by the recoil? ooooo, so you can shoot a gun and handle the recoil..big deal. grow up

so the OP shooting a gun for the first time makes him less of man?

yah, first time i went, i was shocked by the recoil too.. but quickly got used to it.. started with a 1911 .45.. that thing was freakin awesome.. i don't know much about guns though.. that was my friend's and she was the one that asked us to go out that night.. it was cool.. worked my way down to a 9mm glock and a .22 revolver pistol of some sort.... the .22 was like a bb gun.. but that was fun in it's own way.... the .45 was definately fun stuff.. i've only been once, but i'd love to go again.. great great fun.. definately makes you rethink some things..

Going to the range and shooting at some targets is about as wholesome as entertainment gets. It is a very visceral experience. And there are usually a boatload of cops at the range which might be a problem for people with legal problems but not for me as I live within the laws.

Nothing like firing off a few hundred rounds with some friends. 😉

Cool 😛

I went for the first time with Mill a few months ago, and will be returning today. It is fun 🙂 I emptied one clip movie-style at a fast firing rate and my otherwise reasonable accuracy went to the crapper as well!

welcome to the real worls where guns don't have 100 round mags and shooting people in the knee-caps at 50yds isn't as simple as a flick of the wrist.

CS ughh... there's so many little things innacurate in that game, yet it tries sooo hard to be realistic.

Edit: yea i've fired a .45 revolver of one of my friends, it really is alotta fun.

1) Were you wearing ear protection

2) The recoil from a 9mm Glock shook you? What are you, a girly man?

Seriously, a 9mm is wimpish round. If you think a Glock 9 has kick go to Wal-Mart and ask to see their selection of BB guns. I think a Daisy Red Ryder should be just about right for you.
