What the hell happen to separation of church and state. They had one of the new graduates (police officer) come to the stage and lead everyone in a prayer. Asking god to protect them and shit. I was disgusted. This a government entity, why are they holding a prayer for. Really what happen to separation of church and state.

Yes, I cannot think of anything more offensive than rookie cops praying for someone or some thing protect them. It is truly disgusting.

Did anyone ask you specifically to participate?

If not you are free to go to a country with the separation you seek.

They're you, dumbass. You've finally graduated from college (somehow), but you haven't changed.

You should have paid more attention in political science. Did you hear that they pray in Congress? You should probably write your Congressman and tell him to quit.

What's wrong with praying? Or are you one of this hitler people that want to kill Christians and burn down churches? Can you at least wait till after the rapture for that please?

Yes, another big misinterpretation of separation of church and state. What the heck is wrong with praying for protection. Unless it was forced upon you, shut up. Jeez, this country was founded by religious men and women who wanted a place to come to escape religious persecution and people like you are the root of the cause of that. They didn't force you to participate so shut up. Just because they were praying they weren't forcing Christianity or any other religion upon you. I think the whole point of people who come out and say crap like this is just to give themselves something to complain about. Go back to any other country so they can force their own views upon you and leave us alone.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Once you have read the first amendment go ahead and read up on separation of church and state at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S...e_in_the_United_States.

Sounds like you do not really understand what is meant by "separation of church and state"

As a borderline athiest, I'm so sick and tired of hearing about so many non-christian people being offended by public displays of religion. If you don't want to believe in it fine, but you don't need to go around forcing your beliefs on everyone else. The exact same thing outspoken atheists claim is done to them is the exact same shit they go around doing all the time.

Live and let live man. Life is really too short to be worrying about such stupid things like the ten commandments in a courtroom or a statue of a religious figure at some government building. Like the absense of these things are automagically going to change the person who put them there's beliefs. The bottom line is you can't regulate religion. Learn to tolerate and accept people whom aren't clones of yourself.

/shrug. They did a prayer at my friend's Army officer commencement ceremony.

If it offends you that much (don't really see why it would), just chalk it up to tradition.
