Try VLC Player. It has built in codecs for almost everything. I only use media player when this guy fails.

(Dammit) You sold me! Basically $4 S/H for 5 DL & 1 SL DVD+RW disk.

The few bucks extra for retail gets you Nero (and possibly a software DVD player + screws/cable as well). My friend can have my OEM drive now, heh.

Now they have 3550A OEM for about 38.99 + 1.99. I read somewhere, 3540a has minor trouble with certain disks; I'd get the new one.

Yup just got mine for work. Took longer than usual this time. Shipped from Kentucky?!?
Seems to be very little info on the 3550 compared to the 3540. Probably like my 2500 that I flashed into a 2510 then added a modded flash. Burn quality and features went way up. I also got the new benq 1655 for home and its outstanding but cost $53 shipped. I'll test my new 3550 and report back but at this price no one should consider a combo drive or maybe even a cd burner. My expectations are this burner will be within 5% of the best quality burner for only 5% more than the worst burner. I usually like the 80% / 20% rule but I live the 95% / 5% rule.
