Yea, it was ugly. I couldn't completely finish any one problem on the whole thing. It was very ugly. I can only hope that eveyone else sucked too, and I can ride the curve! How is everyone else doing on their finals/projects? Or is everone done?

What was the final for?

EDIT: If you say Statistics, then don't worry about it, everyone will fail.

Time to blame your twin brother, and ask if you can do a make up test. But make sure you pass with flying colours.

It was a physics E & M final...damn it was hard. Hopefully my midterm/ HW scores will pull the grade up

The only good thing about my final today was that I had a 91% (50% midterm/50 final) going into it

I've got 18 finals to grade tonight, and I give my digitals II final tomorrow at 8am! So I've got a ways to go.

think about it this way, all you gotta do is ride the curve. How did everyone feel about the exam on the way out? If everyone found it hard, all you gotta do is be good compared to the average ;)

Totally bombed a final earlier today

I needed about an 80% on it to maintain my cumulative 4.0 college GPA (its my sixth semester)

God, I really hope I pull through on it somehow.... I had badly wanted to graduate with a 4.0 in a couple more semesters :( All that work and for what? sigh... 3.9 isn't good enough (for busting my ass like I did all those times).

Why do they even DO grade curves? I don't understand. 65 or 70% is passing. You pass. You do not pass. There is no "try to pass."

because some profs like to give exams in which the averages are 40%. Obviously this isn't because the students don't deserve to pass, it's because the prof is an asshat. So to make the majority of students pass, the prof curves the grade up to something tolerable like 65%

OK, I understand what you've said. Which leads to my next question: If the prof is an asshat, gives insanely hard tests and knows that a)most will fail b)he'll be grading on a curve Why doesn't he/she just make the test EASIER to begin with? Wouldn't that save everyone time?

Will probably not do so well on my math final... everything else I should be ok. But my graphic design final project isn't looking so hot with only about 2 weeks to go.

because it's a lot easier to write a very difficult exam and curve using some formula that assigns x% of students to an A, y% of students to an A-, etc. rather than write a fair exam which will produce a nice distribution with a 65-70% average.

Let me teach your class and make your exams. I take all questions right out of the book. Memorize the book, do your homework, don't mouth off and you get an A.
