Don't invade my house, and you won't need a bullet proof vest.

What's the problem?

Chuck

Vests are $300 on eBay, or free stolen. When it comes to my safety over someone invading my home, I'll take my safety, Thanks.

Chuck

Are you really that scared that someone will come storming into your home?

I guess I just don't get it. I don't live my life in fear of these things.

Jefferson never said the second one, and the first one really doesn't sound like him either.

I always enjoy hearing about people like you getting robbed, or worse, and then watching you change your minds on the concept of self-defense... it makes me lawl.

I'm sick, I know... moonbeam said it's because I hate myself.

Where do you live rural Maine?

It's happens every day. Happened to a friend of mine. He was shot in the knees and he shot back saving his family and wife they were about to rape. But that's not why we have to right to bear, while it's useful to be able to defend yourself, main reason should govt become too oppressive too police state...think Jews in Germany vs. Americans under British rule.

All gun-grabbers need to be arrested and imprisoned. I guess that will have to wait a couple years.

The backlash against Obama will start when he attacks the constitution.

So that's a yes. You're scared of getting robbed or worse. You can just answer the question instead of dancing around it.

Who cares about being "scared". Are you scared about getting in a car crash? Then why do you wear a seatbelt?

Being prepared and being scared are two different things.

If my daughter is sleeping and I hear someone break in, they are getting shot if they dont retreat. You can go ahead and call 911 and wait 5+ minutes, but im not.

I dont try and force a gun on you, dont try and take mine.

Awesome.

Obama is hitting on all cylinders here.

Democrats elected him into office by a huge margin, and he's taking care of the Democratic agenda point-by-point.

It's going to be a great 8 years.

This nation is already heading down the hole with the economy and all the other issues. If this crap passes it is just going to insure a quicker descend into a collapse of this union just like the Soviet Union collapse.

There aren't many real Americans ones left anymore. The US went from it's "greatest generation" to it's lamest generation in a mere flash. Here they are following a bunch of kooks into socialism/Marxism with barley a whimper. Obama lost his lead to McCain in early fall and "poof" Schumer and Reid start sending out emails and making speeches about insolvent banks and insurance companies - sparking a panic.

Now the same toads like Barney Frank who broke banks and mortgage biz are running the show and effectively pulling the same wealth transfer again right in front of Mr And Mrs American Idiots face. So Mr Genius President who wants to reject old, tired ideas of the past brings tired socialism and busts welfare reform with a sneaky pork bill. Things just get weirder and weirder everyday - like restricting Americans guns rights so Mexico is ok. Hah what a charade. It's all excuses

If you truly believe that the best reason to own a gun in the US today is to protect yourself against the government, you are an idiot.

I actually agree that the prior assault weapon ban was far too ambiguous, and covered too many different types of guns, but in a more clearly-defined, intelligent form, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

I find it very funny that any attempt to limit gun sales in America - despite the intent - is automatically met with 'they are going to take all of our guns away' BS.

And butterbrain, you might be the best example of a brain-dead person I've ever read - emails are the cause of the banks' problems, and a blog link is your proof?

Now lets be honest here people, I know a lot of us wanted Butterbean to be banned for being an insane racist homophobe, I know at one point I did.

Didn't we miss him though? I mean he's now in posting overdrive and I have to say that I've literally laughed out loud twice so far at his latest batshit crazy rants. In some ways I feel bad for laughing at him because he probably has some sort of mental disorder, but I can't help myself.

I'm so glad you're back!

JHC haven't we gone over this a thousand times on this board?

1. Do you go around insulting people that have fire extinguishers and call them scared? What about people there wear their seatbelts?

2. Home invasions, robberies, murders, etc... happen every day in this country, there is nothing wrong with wanting to be prepared to protect yourself and your family. Of course there are a few gun nuts out there, but some of you people go out of your way to label everyone in favor of gun rights as nut cases.

3. How many people are actually killed by "assault weapons" every year? It would really be nice if you anti gun zealots actually brought some facts to the discussion.

This is such a tired argument, leave people and their guns alone. People legally owning firearms are not the problem in this country.

Next under attack will be concealed carry permits.

Bolded for bullshit.

Why? Because while campaigning Obama said he wouldn't? Like he said lobbyists wouldn't be working in his administration?

Why? Because unlike some posting here, I am not stupid or paranoid enough to think that Dems = ban all guns. Again, it will never happen. Your jumping to conclusions fails all logic.

Pish, one of the markets that is actually thriving right now and they go and screw with it.

Well, my investment made last year will certainly pay off in a few months if I need to sell it.

If you really want to shut him up just ask him what his reason is for wanting to take guns away from law abiding citizens. I'd love to see how he gets around the fact that he's scared of someone owning an "assault weapon".

Please. This argument is such a joke, we are talking about trying to solve a problem practically here. The government already owns you it doesn't matter whether or not you have an assault rifle. They have swat teams, they have the FBI, they have the national guard, the army, and they have nuclear weapons. This argument is dependent upon such a radical concept of what our government today should look like that it isn't even worth discussing.

And what does denying a law abiding citizen the right to own a weapon do for combating criminals?

To keep guns from going across the border to Mexico, what a lamea$$ excuse for implementing that pacifistic sissified weapons ban again. I have a better idea why not solidify the border security so they can?t get shipped across like you should be doing instead of screwing Americans because of your blatant emptiness!

I know what I will be spending my tax return money on, I am going on a gun and ammo buying spree before it?s too late!

Right and all the Obama fanatics during the campaign told us the gun issue was dead. Not even a month into his term and he is looking to reimplement one of the most futile pieces of gun legislation known to man. Sorry if we dont take your already proven wrong opinion seriously.

We can still have guns that'll blow the shit out of people, what's the problem? If I wanted to shoot my neighbor in the head and blow his brains out I can still get a gun that's capable of that legally and if it will do that to my neighbor it should be adequate enough to do that to a home invader.

Who was that? Certainly not Obama himself. Anyone who has been paying attention knows he has always supported the assault weapons ban. Sorry, it must really stink to be wrong constantly.

PS In order for me to be proven wrong already  ... there would already be a handgun ban in effect. Since there isn't, people like you are just, as per usual, being blinded by hatred and FEAR.
