I don't profess to know better than others, however, how can you say that smoking doesn't cause emphysema and lung cancer which in turn cause death?
And I don't complain about others peoples disgusting habits, at least not in public. On a forum, it's different. Hey, you can do whatever you want, I can't stop you, won't stop you, and probably couldn't stop you. You probably run the 40 faster than my lard ass. You probably are smarter than me too. But if you stop a minute and realize that you are destroying your body which will cause pain and agony for your loved ones as they have to support your coughing wheezing ass in a hospital, then you'd see where I'm coming from. Yeah I had to do that for my grandfather, and it was hell for me and my family. My parents realized that and stopped cold turkey. Went to see a hypnotist, of all people, and haven't smoked since.
Oh and Russ, as mayor of Offtopicana what kind of message are you sending to the little nefs of the forum? 😉 🙂

Maybe I missed it but nowhere in Russ's first post did I see him asking anybody if they knew of any dangers of smoking,nor did I see him asking for opinions on if he should quit or not.I think the topic is related to saving money while buyng cigarettes.

Hey, Niagaras! You can get those at the Tuscaroran Indian Reservation by my parent's house (very close to Niagara Falls, NY). Come to think of it, all their cigarettes are cheap (I don't and never have smoked, but everyone who does back home gets theirs from the reservation). And they never check ID either, so all the 13 year olds go there too.
is it just california, or do most states prohibit smoking inside restaurants/bars/or practically anywhere indoors?
im a non-smoker, but there's no need to preach quiting the habit.. im everyone (smoker/non-smoker) has heard the reasons why you should stop/not smoke a million times.. if you dont want to smoke, then light up.. if not, then dont.. pretty simple.
on a lighter note russ, whatcha planning to do with all that money you'll be saving?

Where did I say that? I didn't, of course. Some smokers do, indeed, contract those diseases. But, the FACT is that it is a minority of smokers who do. You, and your ilk, run around acting as if smoking automatically creates the diseases in anyone who indulges. That is one of the current great lies from your crowd.
Here's a hint: I've been smoking for 27 years, and I don't even have a trace of scar tissue on my lungs - NONE. I have no acute or chronic cardiopulmonary indications at all, no shortness of breath, no congestion, nothing. My blood pressure is so good, that if I quit smoking, I'd have no pressure at all.

There's a guy- he's English, I don't think we should hold that against him, but apparently this is just his life's dream because he is going from country to country. He has a senate hearing in this country coming up in a couple of weeks. And this is what he wants to do. He wants to make the warnings on the packs bigger. Yeah! He wants the whole front of the pack to be the warning. Like the problem is we just haven't noticed yet. Right? Like he's going to get his way and all of the sudden smokers around the world are going to be going, "Yeah, Bill, I've got some cigarettes.. HOLY SH!T! These things are bad for you! Sh!t, I thought they were good for you! I thought they had Vitamin C in them and stuff!" You dolt! Doesn't matter how big the warnings are. You could have cigarettes that were called the warnings. You could have cigarrets that come in a black pack, with a skull and a cross bone on the front, called tumors and smokers would be lined up around the block going, "I can't wait to get my hands on these things! I bet you get a tumor as soon as you light up! Numm Numm Numm Numm Numm" Doesn't matter how big the warnings are or how much they cost. Keep raising the prices, we'll break into your houses to get the cigarettes, ok!?

Don't let them get to you. Smoking only kills some people who smoke, not all. My great-grandpa just died at age 98, he's smoked since he was 15. Not that I'm saying its a good thing, but like most things in the public eye, they only focus on the negative. Anyway, just thought that with all these "haters", you needed some support 😉 I didn't wont your clearly lacking self esteem (or how did that go again) to let them bring ya down 😀

(repeat ten times). 🙂 I also broke the Camel's back (pun) and the Taxes (two birds with one ash) by buying American Spirit Menthol Kings and Newports from the Seneca Indians of NY State. not all of us are like that.. i personally thing smoking is bad for my body, but who am i to tell someone how to live their life.. and i think bad genes, more than anything, is the root to alot of medical conditions.. in my family with 6 siblings, im the only one that has ever had serious medical problems. never drank/smoked in my life. everyone else, clean bill of health. well majority genes, and id have to say alittle bit of bad luck... 😱 everyone's gonna die sooner or later.. some sooner than later.. but we're all going to go sometime.. that's life.
If I did that, it would piss of the busy-body do-gooders.

thats still way too expensive. www.yessmoke.com is the place to go. 🙂 The tobacco isnt exactly the same as whats in US-taxed tobacco, but its hard to tell the difference and its half of that price.
