You could probably switch to mary jane and it would be cheaper...at least if it keeps going the way it is going.

I was paying between 8-12 a carton when I smoked for Camel's and Marlboro reds...then came all the lawsuits..


Who is to blame for all this? People that don't believe warning labels and the people that make it necessary to put the "Do not drink" and "Keep out of eyes" on containers of Drano...

Stick it to big tobacco, became the battle cry..courts and local government took this as their movement..

The result:
Big tobacco: 1
Smokers: 0

Tobacco companies just raise the prices to cover their lawsuits and local government is as you said hypocrites. You could also order the name-brand cigarettes from Europe and not pay taxes on them, but Indian reservations are mighty nice when you have to fight the system...

hehe, probably. I've always wanted to know what it's like to be on Russ's bad side. Have you had a loved one die from smoking? If you have then you probably know my POV. I have had a loved one die (my grandfather) from smoking, and I hate smoking with a passion. Thankfully my parents gave it up five years ago.

If you dont like it, leave. I'm sick of all these WHINY non-smokers everywhere. I dont even smoke and you guys embarrass me! I cannot believe non-smokers would complain about BARS BEING SMOKEY. Thats like complaining that Las Vegas has gambling.

No, there are 10 packs/carton, so 2.1 packs/day. That's still quite a bit. I'm a smoker and I just don't find myself having enough time to smoke more than 8-10 cigarettes a day, unless I'm out drinking. 🙂

A. I don't complain about bars being smokey.
B. Just as you are entitled to your opinion, so am I. I can complain about smoking when it interferes with my breathing.

If I'm in a bar I know people will be smoking, so I don't care. But if I'm in a restaurant in the NON-SMOKING section and someone lights up, yeah I'm gonna complain. Don't like it, too bad.

Here's something that will suprise your little do-gooder ass. When I'm eating in a restaurant, I don't smoke at all - even if I'm in the smoking section. I also don't smoke in other people's homes, or other people's cars. And, I don't even complain about other people's habits that I might find disgusting.

Oh, and one other thing. While I am sympathetic to your loss you, like many of the "I know better then you crowd" make the mistake of assuming that because you happen to know somebody who smoked, and allegedly died because it, everybody who smokes will. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Russ, if you dont mind having ever so slightly different tasting marlboros, you can order from yessmoke.com. They are overseas and have cartons for ~$15-16 shipped. Still more expensive than your new brand but still a very good deal. 🙂
