Sweet. Still hearing conflicting accounts, but Id personally hope that they dont let the frame rate slip one inch in HD. Ill say one thing at least....playing it in 480P was absolutely rock solid even under the worst conditions. I can only hope that the dips you describe arent too commonplace.
From what I've read, a game is always rendered at the same resolution and scaled either up or down on output. If that's true, the framerate should be identical at any resolution.

That would be a pretty blockheaded move. Although I somehow doubt its true. Where did you hear this?

I'll try to track the info down, but what would be blockheaded about it? Performance would be identical on every console, which is part of the point of consoles.

I'm pretty sure thats what MS told people. However, I think Gamespot or 1up said they noticed that framerates in some game seemed to pick up when playing on a SDTV after playing on an HDTV.

wow there are a few people in this thread that actually have brains and don't actually fall for the MS hype machine.

Console person: OMG Halo 2 is the best FPS ever made!

95% of PC users over the age of 8 : WTF chemicals were you exposed to as a baby?

But my own personal feelings are, Xbox 360 seems like a lackluster console that was 110% rushed out the door. CoD 2 looks exactly the way you described it Crescent13 and trying to control it with that controller felt like I had some form of handicap vs having played it on my PC with a keyboard and mouse. That said I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that can't afford decent PC hardware so it's probably a good thing that monstrocities like the Xbox 360 are rushed and squirted out of Bill Gates Microsoft.

Generalize much? What a dipshit.

Uh...ok?

Kinda odd, I was asking myself that question after reading your post.

You do realize there are people here who have actually have an X360 and have played the final release version of some of the games, right? Of course the fact they they actually liked them must make them braindead zombies, right?

I'm not going to say if its good or bad until I've actually played them for myself, and no not some crappy demo at Wal-Mart or somewhere that they can't even setup correctly. Being a PC gamer, you should know that its not always the best idea to judge a game based on a demo.

the brain dead get to play project gotham 3😛 the lucky ones on big screen hdtv. stop pretending the pc is superior in all aspects.

Do you really trust a game demo at Best Buy or Wal-Mart?

I've seen PC game demos of recent games that looked like crap because they weren't set up correctly.

Yep. I saw the final versions of a couple of EA games at EBGames (they took out the demo disc and put in some games to show customers) and there was nary a jaggie to be seen. Both Madden and Tiger Woods looked very sharp.

I think the complaints that people have been making about the COD2 demo are limited to the demo itself. Check around at sites like 1up.com, IGN.com, joystiq.com, and more. They all are saying that the games are looking very nice. Even Perfect Dark Zero is getting praise.

It'd be blockheaded because it would be artificially limiting its capabilities.

Id think that'd be the kind of thing that a developer can choose to do, but isnt forced to do.

I suppose interally rendering at 1280x720 and downsampling to 720*480 would be pretty much 3x supersampling, which isnt necessarily a bad thing, but 4x MSAA at 720*480 would be more efficient and probably look that tad bit better.

If theyre scaling up SD (not happening now, but if it ever does) and trying to pass it off as HD like sony did with GT4, then thats just absurd.
