Well damn, my neighbor just started a stereo war with me.

Turn off the stereo and go fix the cam position senser, OK..🙂

According to the Haynes manual, i need to backprobe the distributor. I'll head to autozone tomorrow and figure out what exactly i need to do that
You need a couple of good strong straight pins to stick next to the wires on the back of the distributor plug and push in until they make contact with the back of the metal connectors on the wires......and a Digital volt/ohm meter DVOM. It is that simple, but do try and slide the pins in the same hole in the rubber protector that the wire goes thru instead of making new holes.....not a big deal it just looks better and reduces the risk of moisture intrusion.

Hmmm, I think i can manage that. Thanks!
Your welcome, and BTW....if you get a DVOM with the optional alligator clip end attachments it is a lot easier to take readings since you can just clip them to the pins instead of trying to hold them in place.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again.

That sub is huge, I wonder if i could at least give you a run for your money

At -20 dba on my receiver <20 hz test tones are enough to make people physically ill.

Not to mention rattling dishes in cupboards upstairs, & generally simulating an earthquake.

It's tuned about the same as yours (14-15 hz), but it's backed up by an 850W pro audio amp.

You'd give me a good run though.

How much did it cost you? And did you make it yourself?

It's not much, but my living room is too small to take advantage of 5.1 sound. I'll probably add a center channel in a few months

I did build it myself.
Parts alone would be around $400, perhaps closer to $500 if you built only one. I built two (well, I haven't finished the second yet because I have no buyer for one), which helped reduce the cost. Sonotube for instance runs ~$120, most places will only sell you it in 12' sections.

That of course is just the sub, you'd need an amp. $125 will buy you a 250W plate amp, I went all the way & bought an 850W rack mount amp & bridged it across paralleled voice coils. The driver is rated at 750W but is well known to go above that so my amp matches it well.

It is easily the match of most $1500 sub/amp combos.

Have you ever written a DIY? I've seen a very similar sub on a DIY before.

I haven't written anything yet, but a lot of people have built similar subs (Sonotube based). Mine turned out nicer than a lot of them (IMO), many people have unfinished tubes or just painted tubes.

I have had several requests for my CAD drawings, at some point when I get around to it I'll write it up & provide the CAD files.

I can get hooked up on Sonotube (benefits of working construction for a while). How much was the amp, the cone itself, and where did you get them from?

Wait until other neighbors complain about the stereo war and both of you receive a notice of civil infraction.
