Most people believe in the supernatural, be it Jebus, New Age Hippy Bullshit, or talking to dead old Granny. The need for the supernatural is probably inherent to humanity; a mental defense from the fear of death.

The important thing is what one does with their belief and its sad that some groups take their belief to the level of violence.
