I weld with a Lincoln Weldpack 100 on a weekly basis, this is a 120V wire feed welder that can easily be converted to MIG with a $90 MIG kit.

This welder easily welds exhaust systems and has a low enough amperage to weld thin sheetmetal panels without a lot of heat distortion, (Maximum penetration is one quarter inch) naturally if you are going to weld sheetmetal on a daily basis, the only route to go is TIG welding, extremely low heat and excellent penetration.
