Saying Hi, since I just saw this thread.

First time folding for TeAm Anadtech - about 6 years ago I did some folding for the [H]orde, but stopped when I rebuilt the computer I had configured for it. I've found with Covid, I'm newly motivated to get back into the folding game and now have 1 machine folding and 3 machines running Rosetta at home, 2 of which are pretty ancient.

Welcome. I have been folding for about 20 years, but didn't get too serious until my dad died of cancer in 2010. Then in 2017, I got cancer. I was treated for a while, but in Oct 2018, I had surgery to remove the cancer, but the cancer drugs took my hearing and my balance. In 48 hours, I lost my bladder, prostate, hearing and balance, so yea, I am pretty serious about it now. F@H, Rosetta and WCG, but 2/3rds of my farm for CPUs does Rosetta, after the covid-19 hit.

Hey everyone, new (old) folder here.

16+ years ago I was folding for the old Amdmb.com/pcper.com Folding Frogs but fell out of it through the laptop years of college and professional life. Recently built a Ryzen 2700/GTX 1650 rig for cartographic work and, after hearing about the sheer power of F@H being applied to the COVID-19 project, I figured I ought to return to the cause.

The heady days of headless and caseless barebones Athlon XP setups littered around my desk and folding away are long past, but it's fun to be part of a team while doing something to help.

And yes, this is the first post in a 16-year-old account

Hello from France to all,

Just joined the forum today but I've been reading Anandtech for the past 10 years or so.

I joined the Folding@Home race a few weeks ago, with the name "silverbluemx" also.

First on my desktop (Ryzen 3950X + Vega 64, in a custom loop), and after some days I added my laptop as well (Gigabyte Aero15X : Core i7 8750H + GeForce 1070 Max-Q).

The laptop is a rather thin one so it gets some cooling help from a repurposed 140mm fan on a 12V wall adaptor, and a CPU downclock to 2.2 GHz with Throttlestop.

They're running 24/7 right now, I'll probably keep folding after the race is over, and I'm allowed to get out again, but probably not so intensively...

Hi all :)

New-to-the-team folder here, having had stints with the EVGA and lately LTT teams, I figured it was time to show my love and support for Anandtech by folding for it's team.
Noting too crazy to speak of, some spare cores(Ryzen 1700) and a Quadro P2000 in my Proxmox server and then on and off my main PC with a Ryzen 3700X and a GTX 1080Ti.

Looking forward to exploring the forums :)

Cheers
