Weird lights in the sky?

I was just outside and noticed three orange lights in the sky moving independantly but pretty much in formation. They were steady, bright orange lights that suddenly disappeared one by one. Anyone else notice this? I live in Burbank...

They are flying saucers from outer space. The reason they disappeared into the darkness is because they have completed their mission of capturing a few humans to display in their zoo.
 
IIRC, they were the moderators here to settle the writer's strike...Being L.A., no one would think aliens were out of the ordinary...

but i once took some pics of some strange lights in our sky... the pics didnt come out looking like what i saw with my naked eye, but lets just say, they came out....interesting..


notice how the stars are in focus, i was using the top of my car to steady the camera...

that is really odd. i was going to say stfu newb lulz but the stars are in focus...

interesting. crap on your lens?
 
nah, it was actually something in the sky, i saw it move with my own eyes... it moved in all four directions at will, and it acted as if was using magnets or something to manauver...

in one of the pics, you can see what looks like a ring around the middle of it... i could see this very faintly with my eyes as well.. it was like a gyrosclope almost...

I launch weather balloons all the time. They are big, red and essentially invisible in the night sky.

They are only about as big as your torso anyway.
 
It could have been a number of things.

1) An Iridium Flare. This isn't likely, because you said you saw three.

2) Geminids. The shower a few weeks ago was impressive. It could have been a few lingering meteors, or maybe you were lucky to actually catch a few meteorites blazing through the sky.

Actually, that's all I can think of. Sometimes the space station makes odd maneuvers through the sky, but there wouldn't be three lights.

I'm just curious how you were able to determine that something was acting like it used magnets?

It was most likely just some atmospheric phenomena
