OK, we are all eating at home a whole lot more than we were a month ago, if not 100% of meals are prepared at home. No more 32 oz drinks, supersize the fries, etc, and probably a lot less junk food. There is even thread about how eating at home has impacted the amount of thrash they throw out every week. Personally we ate out 2 - 3 times a week, often food trucks at breweries, or nearby pizza or similar.

As we are older, and both have underlying health issues, we actually stopped going out about 4 weeks ago, before breweries and restaurants were ordered closed by the governor.

My weight has been steady for years, not that it wouldn't be bad if I shed a few pounds (maybe 20ish) but never had the incentive, as I like my beer and food. So now we are at home, I am still drinking my beer, maybe even more since I'm not having to drive home, and we are eating good. I hadn't weighed myself in perhaps 2 months, but when I stepped on the scales this morning I was a bit surprised to see I have lost 8 - 9 pounds.

Conclusion: It's not the beer, but the type of food.

What has isolation done for your weight?

For me, pretty steady. Just checked and I'm at 145lbs and was around there last I checked. My eating has not really changed much, and overall even my life has not changed too much either. I still eat the same things as normal, and still go out for walks. Main thing that changed is I avoid going it for things that aren't necessary. Like sometimes I think of something I want at Home Depot and go shop around in there, I don't do that anymore. Same with groceries sometimes I'd go without a plan and just buy whatever, but I don't do that anymore, I plan my visits.

I'm probably saving money this way too, not using the vehicle as much either.

145 lbs? My left leg weighs more than that...ya fucking manlet! :p

I'm staying pretty much the same...losing a bit here and there again...which is good. I had dropped about 60lbs when we moved here...put 20 back on...now starting to lose again...slowly.

~190 lbs holding steady here. This post got me to replace the batteries in my scale and verify. Clocked in @188 this morning post-shit.

Calories, Calories, Calories folks. Remember that exercise keeps you fit, your calorie intake keeps you slim. Just cause you're sitting at home doesn't mean you need to stuff your face out of boredom, or drink to excess for the same reason.

Suggestion I shouldn't give: if you're drinking, drink a hard liquor that's 80 proof or more, straight. Best drunk to calorie ratio right there.

Losing a little, but I've been trying to cut a bit. We generally cook at home, and I have a fairly solid gym in my basement so not much different than usual.

Pretty much I just listen to my body. If I'm not hungry I don't eat. People are dead set that you need to eat breakfast, then lunch at noon, and supper at 5 and some people even have a snack at midnight. But TBH half the time I only eat one meal since it's enough for me. I don't know how healthy that is though...

Still the same. I went a month without working out back in February and ate more than I usually do, and I didn't gain any weight.

I've been losing weight since I went on vacation March 9th. I just don't eat as much as I do when I am in my lifting routing with all the protein shakes and all the protein I eat. I'm right under 200lbs.

Gaining weight. Biggest thing is I don't have lot of work stress now so that's probably the biggest factor for slight weight gain. I'm also snacking lot more because I have so much food at home. All those dark chocolates, cashew nuts, chips, and ice cream I'm eating are not helping. 6ft, 200 lbs. My comfortable weight is about 180 lbs which I kept for the last 25 years or so. I need to drop about 20 pounds.

I'm gaining but it's on purpose. Want to gain about 15-20 more.

Best thing you can do if you want to gain or lose weight is log everything you eat (MyFitnessPal app is good). Then you can see exactly how many calories you're taking in. Exercise is important too but diet counts more.

Do you lift? I always drop a few lbs (like 5 generally) if I take a week or more off as I lose water weight from my muscles.

- Yep, same here. Ironic that my quickest "get cut" strategy is to *stop* working out.

Not a story a Jedi would tell you, and all that...

Yeah, I do weights and cardio in the gym, but nothing too serious. I've only gone running a couple of times in the past month (the gym at work is closed) and I haven't seen much change in my weight except for muscle mass obviously decreasing.

I started to run a little more, and by more, I mean doing maybe 100m or so near the start of my walk then walking the rest while wondering if it's normal for my heart rate to be so high and for me to feel like I'm going to croak. :p Even when I was a kid I was never good for long distance running though, like in gym class etc. I can burst and go really fast but I get out of breath really fast. I think that's a genetic thing. Fast twitch muscles vs slow twitch. If I was to actually train I could probably get better though.

I think this year I might actually set a goal, I want to be able to run the 400m track in front of my house without feeling like I'm going to die wen I'm done and do it in under a minute. I tried it last year and I had to stop about 2/3 in because I literally felt like I was going to feint. That's not really good for my age.

BMI wise I'm good, but as far as actually being in shape I have room for improvement.

I have no idea. Last time I went to wegmans, the higi health station was closed. That's where I weigh myself, and take my blood pressure. I suspect I've lost a couple pounds. Haven't been eating as many nuts, or eating out as much. I'm not locked in the house though. I'm doing the same stuff I've always done.
