weight loss tips?

my gf is overweight. I don't mind it, but yes she would be more attractive if she were not overweight. She really desperately wants to lose weight. Her main problem seems to be "impulse eating" or "eating something at a meeting without even noticing it"

For those of you that have lost significant weight, particularly women, what tips do you have?

Have you tried going to the gym together? That could help motivate her. As for the impulse eating, only willpower can curb that.

Having had this conversation with other girls, it essentially boils down to ... eat soluble fiber in the morning, do 30 minutes minimum of aerobics daily. Considering I'm not a girl, I can offer little beyond that she should try jump rope....girls jumping up and down repeatedly = teh win for everyone.

The only way to lose weight is to eat less. Thats the cold, hard reality. No matter how much you exercise, no matter how many diet pills you take, you won't lose weight unless you significantly cut back your portions. Eat less of everything.

Instead of drinking a sugar drink, drink water. Instead of drinking coke, drink water. Cutting back intake of high fat and sugered drinks is a major achievement.

That should be a start.

you don't mind her being overweight??? place your man card on the table and back away slowly with your hands in the air...

seriously, make her do the work during sex

The real trick is to take it slow and make small changes at a time. Too much change such as...not drinking any soda or juice and just haveing water will break a diet. Almost no one can change their life drastically all at once. If she has problems with snacking at work, she should bring snacks, healthy snacks with her. If she can she should eat a small snack before a meeting to help curb her appetite. Something like low or nonfat yogurt with fruit, or celery with cottage cheese. She should talk to a dietician if she seriously wants to lose weight, they can help her figure out where all the excess calories are coming from (most likely added fats and sugars in processed foods)
Good Luck!

I lost 30 lbs over the winter, main thing is try at all costs to consume less than 2000 calories a day, then work out for at least 30-60 minutes a day. No fast food, junk food. Just read the nutritional labels and it'll give you a good idea of how many calories you're eating. Don't be fooled by the calories listed on the nutritional label, also check the serving size and servings per container.

I'm going to call shens and demand pics as proof.

and just so there's no funny business, I'm afraid you can't be wearing clothes in them. I really wish there was a way to avoid this silly technicality, but I don't make the rules. I can assure you, however, that I am a professional and will be viewing the pictures as such.

Actually the way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you consume.
More exercise will increase the amount of calories you burn.

So you can certainly lose weight without eating less, if you can exercise enough to burn more than you consume.
