keep it up m8! awesome job sticking with the effort!!!

not sure what the exercise regimen is, but let me recommend "Heart Monitor Training for the Compleat [sic] Idiot" (John L., Jr. Parker). Geared for runners but the idea is the same for any cardio exercise (swimming/biking/running/whatever). anyway - good luck!!!

Man guys, I really appreciate the coments guys, it really does feel great to have the support. Someone asked if I played football, the answer is no, I was always big, but not always as big as I got, I used to hike, actually climb, play rugby, ect.... over the last 15 years (more then 50% of my life as I am 27) I have had four major reconstructions on my left leg. From 2 x sub talar fussions of my left ankle, to a fulcerson ostieotomy realignment of my left patella. So after I recovered from one injury, I seemd to end up getting back into shape, but then doing stuff I shouldn't like say rock climbing, and I would end up back under the knife. :sigh:

Since the ankle surgery (four surgeries in the last four years) I have pretty much done nothing, didn't really walk for 2 years, was actually in a wheel chair for 8 months. So I am kind of limited now to being more careful with what I do. Swiming is great, lifting with the trainer is fine, and I am trying to get more physically active again. (gaining a ton of weight after breaking your leg really tends to get you out of being very active.) I played some basketball today with friends for the first time in 2 or 3 years. I hadn't really done anything like that in a while. So I am feeling pretty good. (and sore :D)

I am going to have to decide soon if I want to stay on the liquid program for a while now, or start to eat food too, I think I may try to lose another 50 on the liquid.

Anyway, again guys, really thanks so much for posting your support, it really means alot to me.

Just keep it up man, you're so determined. You've got my full respect, to see someone tackle their weight problem like this, it's simply amazing.

Keep it up man you are looking great! Have you started hitting the weights? With that type of build you could get jacked pretty easily, and would build strength and help burn fat and tone.

Props to you OP. Although I'm not overweight anymore (teenage metabolism), I know how nearly impossible it is to resist food.

Just wanted to commend you on taking the effort to do this for yourself. I could stand to lose maybe 10-20 lbs max, and however minor I'd have to change my eating/exercise habits, I haven't bothered yet. And you've taken on such a daunting task. Again, big props to you for doing this, pat yourself on the back for every pound you shed, you deserve it.

Well first off props for making a huge lifestyle change for the better (your ankles will thank you!), and props for doing it the right way through a program with physicians' guidance.

Great stuff man, nice to see someone choosing the right way to kick the extra lbs. You're making some serious progress, that's fantastic. You've actually helped motivate me to drop 20 or so. Keep the updates coming!

Definately. I am no where near jacked but starting with a low then eventually moderate lifting routine helped me kick start my slow weight loss a year or so back when the dieting buzz wore off and the amount of weight lost at each check got smaller & smaller. It helped (actually still helping) get my 6' frame from a high of 272 lbs. of more or less flab to my current 185 and counting :)

Keep it up man:D

Yeah - I went off the diet for 1 week and gain like 10 LBS :p

But I think most of that was water, and I did it as a break because I decided to do 4 more months of the liquid diet.

I will post more when I get back to losing weight ;) (in a week)
