So I guess this gives states the green light to legalize marijuana for recreational use?

That's what I'm thinking. This could have possibly been a better way for the Feds to give them the green light instead of trying push actual legislation through congress.

AG basically said, "we don't care to enforce anything if your state says its legal"

You are reaching here. Real legalization is a long way away if at all.

Americans generally support marijuana with a physicians prescription, not recreational use.

Of course at one point americans generally supported segregation, slavery, and teaching religion in school. So what the majority of americans want and what is right and wrong don't necessarily have anything to do with each other. :) just pointing that out.

This is why there is resistance. These are industries and the people who work in and own them have a vested interest in the status quo.

You equate food to illegal drugs?

Food is deadlier to your health than marijuana.

Im all for medical MJ, and have been known to partake myself every now and then...but come on. Statements like this actually work against what you are fighting for. It is like PETA making people want to actually club baby seals.

In terms of toxicity many foods are worse than cannabis, and other illegal substances too - potatoes are famously more poisonous than LSD. Of course, you don't smoke potatoes...

This is exactly why I said Obama needs to have the law changed. You just can't have a policy of not enforcing the law, that gets us nowhere.

LOL @ Possessed Freak, for his so-called "intelligent debate". What a fucking joke.

I agree. You need to be sterilized so you don't breed.
Fear not, I do not plan to have children ever. But I don't think this is part of the current discussion.
