My fiance has told me that it is my job to find a "our song" song to dance to at our wedding in July. Any ideas of a good soft song?

Actually the more songs I get the better cause I have to provide the background music as well so anything that I dont use for "our song" I can certainly use for the 2 hours of background music... thanks for the responses.. I'll download all these songs and see what I think... KEEP EM COMIN! :)

John Michael Montgomery - Love The Way You Love Me?

What state do you live in?

I know for my wedding, I'm not going to use a song that everyone else uses.

Linda Ronstadt---I Love You For Sentimental Reasons
written by Deek Watson and William Best

I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I'll give you my heart

I love you
And you alone were meant for me
Please give your loving heart to me
And say we'll never part

I think of you every morning
Dream of you every night
Darling I'm never lonely
Whenever you're in sight

I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I've given you my heart

I think of you every morning
Dream of you every night
Darling I'm never lonely
Whenever you're in sight

I love you for sentimental reasons
I hope you do believe me
I've given you my heart

I live in Utah. Yeah I'd like to find a unique song.. maybe something a little older that people dont use as much... but just depends on which one really hits me.

Great song.

Wish I was at home to look through my collection, hard to think of songs off the top of my head.

Atlantic Starr - Masterpiece
Norah Jones - Come Away With Me
Keith Sweat - I'll Give All My Love To You (try to find the remix)
SWV - Weak
Force MD - Tender Love
Heatwave - Always And Forever (Luther Vandross sang it too)

Ugh, done for now.

I'm a huge Mazzy Star fan, and it's a common mistake that everyone makes...attributing a certain remake of "Wild Horses" to the band. Mazzy Star never sang this tune. This particular remake is actually by the band The Sundays, but for some reason it spread like wildfire through the file sharing world as Mazzy Star instead. If you listen closely, you can tell that it's definitely not Hope Sandoval singing lead. :)

Anyway, while we're on the Mazzy subject, I'd definitely play their song, "Fade Into You," at your wedding.

That's what we danced to.

us too

EDIT: sarah maclachlan's 'i love you' is a very slow romantic song but a little too slow for dancing. depeche mode 'somebody' is also slow and romantic. both are contemporary though.

for old skool, there's
al green 'let's stay together',
stevie wonder 'my cherie amour', 'you are the sunshine of my life',
otis redding 'try a little tenderness',
joe cocker 'you are so beautiful',
barry white, 'can't get enough of your love', 'love's theme'

and there's other songs by each of those artists and other classic motown artists.

Helloween - I want out.

From our lives' beginning on
we are pushed in little forms
no one asks us how we like to be
in school they teach you what to think
but everyone says different things
but they're all convinced that
they're the ones to see

[Bridge:]
So they keep talking and they never stop
and at a certain point you give it up
so the only thing that's left to think is this

[Chorus:]
I want out--to live my life alone
I want out--leave me be
I want out--to do things on my own
I want out--to live my life and to be free

People tell me A and B
they tell me how I have to see
things that I have seen already clear
so they push me then from side to side
they're pushing me from black to white
they're pushing 'til there's nothing more to hear

[Bridge:]
But don't push me to the maximum
shut your mouth and take it home
'cause I decide the way things gonna be

[Chorus:]
I want out--to live my life alone
I want out--leave me be
I want out--to do things on my own
I want out--to live my life and to be free

There's a million ways to see the things in life
a million ways to be the fool
in the end of it, none of us is right
sometimes we need to be alone

[Solo: Kai/Both]

No no no, leave me alone

[Chorus:]
I want out--to live my life alone
I want out--leave me be
I want out--to do things on my own
I want out--to live my life and to be free

Perfect wedding song ;)
