I have almost the exact same ring.

Palladium scratches very easily.
Mine started out looking like the picture and now it is 100% covered in scratches and appears dull grey.

I don't mind and actually like it better that way, but it someone is looking for it to stay glossy forever, do not get palladium.

e-weddingbands.com has awesome deals, BTW.

The color of mine really hasn't seemed to have dulled, but it has been scratched up - and it's only been worn for nine months now.

I don't mind the scratches because I think it gives it more depth without having a design cut into the ring itself. When it was brand new it looked nice, but in that almost too shiny and perfect sort of nice. With the scratches it has a bit more character.

Just a white gold band.

Don't do white gold.

That's what I did.

White gold is a chemical reaction that's done on regular gold since all gold is really golden colored. It will wear out and it will start turning golden and look like shit real fast.

I replaced mine with this ring for $50 and couldn't be happier. You cannot scratch this ring, it will never fade, it will always look brand new.

I lost mine so I guess it was a good thing it only cost like $35. Simple white gold band. It did start to look kind of brassy but that was okay. About once a year I think maybe I should replace it.

Personally I avoid gold as much as possible. I don't like the destruction that is left behind to get it.

What? I put the corpses back in their graves. It's not like anyone is going to check the teeth again.

i thought about gold, because it is what my father had, but tungsten seemed the best of all worlds. looks good, durable, cheap. It's just a metal circle after all, and I have no concerns dragging it on bricks, rocks, etc.

I guess instead of creating a new thread, I'll resuscitate this one.

I'm looking for a golden-color wedding band, primarily because it looks better with my skin tone. Do I have any alternate options (like Tungsten or Titanium for the silver/white look) other than 18k, 14k, or 10k gold?

My ring is tungsten with a gold inlay... I forget, but I believe it was 18k gold.

Mixed metal ring maybe.

Those are both tungsten.

I like mokume-gane rings, cool mixed metal effect.

Yeah, I've considered a bit more silver/white to match the fiancée's ring, but maybe with a bit of gold as well. And an 8mm ring is just too big for me.

I've considered:

step 1: acquire scrap gold
step 2: melt scrap gold with blowtorch
step 3: ???
step 4: profit!

FYI I hate my tungstan. It's so heavy and thick. I tried on my bro in laws titanium ring and loved how thin and light it was, didn't even feel like I was wearing a ring.

This coming from a guy that has never had any kind of ring or hand jewelery ever. It's been two years since I got married and the ring still drives me nuts.

I just have a plain palladium ring - better than white gold, but cheaper than platinum. I did not care for most of the men's bands, too many of them reminded me of those tribal tattoos that were really popular a few years back. I wanted something a bit more classic.
Something like this:
WB36000100_main

Exactly what I have, but larger, and platinum.

Here is my palladium band after 7 months.
The inside is still mirror finish, but the exterior is worn a lot.

Got my titanium band from these guys 7 years ago. Still looks almost like new and I'm not easy on it. Love how light and comfortable titanium is.
