What level are your lessons at now?

If you are starting to run into road blocks, it's time to save for a new car. I can't emphasize enough that your best bet is to skip class 2 and go straight to an M3 or 911 in class 3 ($35000)

Is there somehow a ratio with the money you win in the 1-on-1 ladder? Like if you beat a higher car, chances are higher that you win more money?

It's not money-based. If your car stats + StageX mods + lessons = higher than their combination, you win the race. Then money is calculated. If you totally blow them away and they're somewhere near your stats, you'll probably get a bonus. I haven't figured out the bonuses yet.

I love beating Boxters with my Lotus Elise. They have a lot higher stats in the car but I think the lessons are paying off

Probably that first $50k or so, lessons outweigh the cost of Stage 3 mods, but you'll eventually need the mods when lessons cost $30k-$40k and up. I've yet to beat a Stage 4 car though.

You win 10% of the other guy's cash. Whatever rank you are at, there is a minimum win which you get even if your opponent has $0.

Randomly a $500, $1000 or $10,000 bonus is awarded

You have to break before you corner. Otherwise you just fly off the track, even with decent cornering.

If you have one of the better cars in your class then yes. I have one of the top class 3 cars. So I win money in almost every class specific race I enter. It is my only way to make money at the moment as all the cars I can race 1 on 1 are way better than mine. Don't even think of an open event until you have a class 5 car or better.

anyway, one of the Porkas that I was stuck with was replaced by a fellow Gti, and in return he then took a well-deserved beating from me

I spent all my money on lesson, coz Lessons will last you thru all cars, and car mods don't. I do have Stage 1 upgrades and all Stage 2 Handling upgrades. love to pick on Gti and Bugs owners who pumped all their money to Acceleration and Top Speed upgrades

my theory is, spend ALL your money and bank the rest BEFORE you call it quit for the night. coz it is at night (or day or whenever you are not playing) where you will get raped by outclassed cars. I got ripped by 14 out of the 15 guys in the History page while I taking a lunch break and watching Conan.
I haven't win any special event; so unless you have a Fully upgraded car then yeah he maybe able to win one.
and here is how I prioritize my Lesson:
Cornering > Brakes > then Start and Acceleration
then, I play primarily courses with lot of turns and NEVER play that Santa Pot Drag

and that's my story and I am sticking to it. (well, that's probably why I got stuck once in level 27.7 coz I spend all money on Lessons)

I want to know who AnandtechOWNS is too. I raced him twice because I raced him... the someone else... then him again. By that time, I'd blown too far past him to race him again.

35 ranking with $4.5k in the bank


couple questions - what is your strategy? I seem to always race cars I know I will beat but win like $20-50 a race, with the very rare $1k or $10k bonus (this happened twice) or 500 bonus. what causes the bonus? that the other person had lots of cash in hand and not in the bank?

do you get more for certain tracks or not? i like to just run the drag race on cars I know it will be easy win, but dont get much cash for it
