on the one hand i want to see my lakers win, have payton and malone get their rings (which i feel they deserve!).

on the other hand, the kings do deserve the title too, they've gotten better each year and play great basketball..

but then the twolves also deserve it for putting together such a great team and having such a great player in garnett,

and finally, it would be fun to see dallas win too. the nba is a follow the leader type league, so if a 100% offense 0% defense team like dallas wins, maybe other teams will start putting an emphasis on scoring, and the games might be fun to watch again.

oh yeah, and it would be really awesome if detroit got into the finals, and darko got some PT and played like an MVP and won the finals MVP award! :)

I guess they could have used him the other day against the Jazz, huh? ;)

Don't remind me of that game. :(

heh, ill blame part of that one on emotional exaustion from the game the night before in LA :) But yah, the jazz have given the kings trouble all season (no game between them has been decided by more than 10 points or something like that). I think sloan deserves a lot of consideration for coach of the year for what he has done without malone and stockton.

Kings have been scary good the past few years and always choke up come playoff time. This year will be no different because they just don't have the mental toughness. Teams to watch out for in the playoffs:

Spurs
T-Wolves
Dallas

GO LAKERS!!!

spurs i can understand, sort of. dallas?!? hah. besides, what do you think makes a team tough? its going through the hardships of losing. the kings would own dallas in a playoff series anyday, as well as SA. minnesota is good this year though, it will be fun to see if they can get out of the first round :)

I agree, spurs IMO has the best shot of winning (and repeating) the NBA title again. Unless malone comes back and kobe can gets his mind set on the game, and the team is back in prime, Spurs will repeat.

Got to cheer on Carmelo in Denver. Wish he was still wearing Orange but he's been simply dominating lately. 27.1 points/game in February.

I think the big difference for the Kings this year is that they have Miller. He's going to be the guy that puts them over the top this year. And Webber should just be getting into shape and getting confidence come playoff time. I personally don't like Webber that much but say want you want about him, he is a great player, the numbers don't lie.

GO KINGS!!!!

GO MALOOFS!!! - It's nice to see the owners of a team care about the team and show some emotion and actually try to win it every year, even if they are spoiled rich boys.

no sorry, you are wrong. the spurs have one good player in duncan, and a few decent role players. they dont have it this year.

I have to take you to task here. Parker is a very solid starting guard, who has the potential to be an all-star someday. Ginobli has a lot of talent too, he could be a Michael Finley type of player eventually. They are way more than role players. And Nesterovic gets averages close to a double double and 1.9 blocks playing only 26 minutes a game. If he played starter minutes, he would probably average 12 and 11 plus 3 blocks. The role players on that team include Rose, Turkoglu, Bowen and Mercer. But Parker, Nest, and Ginobli are very solid players.

Dallas has a much better record against the best teams in the West this year. They have a chance to sweep San Antonio, and have played Minn, Sactown, and Portland very well. The Lakers can still beat them because of Shaq, but it looks like LA is ready to implode. All their players are talking about the offseason and complaining already, which does not bode well for a playoff run. I give Dallas an even chance in the West right now. They have added more inside talent in Walker, Jamison, S Williams, and Fortson. They are one of the best rebounding teams in the league this year (previously one of their achilles heals). The only thing that impedes them is defense, of which they have played pretty well the last 20 games or so. Their future is up to them, they can play with anybody.

mark cuban even said that series woulda been a lot different if webber didnt go down. if it was this years team against dallas, the kings would still win, probably even without webber. dallas still has no inside game at all, even after they trade van exel away for jamison. oh by the way that was probably their best player, at least in the playoffs

Wrong. Read post above. Their rebounding and interior scoring are up this year. They are third in the league in rebounding I believe. Their main weakness is defense.

Dallas is dangerous due to that offnsive fire power and all the mismatches on the court. They were good the prior years, but this year with Walker and Twion, they are downright scary.

This is the last year of the Lakers as we know it. They are about to return to the dark ages of rebuilding. If they keep Kobe and Shaq, they will have a chance if they get great role players.

antoine walker is the most grossly overrated player i have ever seen. they guy shoots miserably, hoists up ill advised shots, and is an average defender at best. Jamison, well, it sucks that he comes off teh bench.

Walker has quit taking as many shots and has become more of a point forward. He has excellence assists for his position and is doing quite well for the team. Plus he doesn't back down from punks like Shaq, which is nice to have.
