Damn, his first game back and he logs 26 points on 12-18 shooting with 12 rebs. Not bad for a guy who hasnt played in 8 or 9 months. Miller also scores 23 points off the bench (how often do you see an all star willing to come off the bench?) and peja still gets 23 from a reduced number of shots. Meanwhile vlade misses a triple double by two assists. Is this one of the best frontcourts in the league? What do you guys think their chances are of going all the way? i honestly think this year will be their best chance.

i dunno... i kinda like the kings without weeber. they need him inside, but he plays soft now. i mean... the last thing they need is another perimeter guy. or maybe i am just bealous.

Well, from the replays i saw tonight, a lot of his shots were post up shots. the rebounding i think is what we need most as well as his defensive presence to be able to guard guys like the garnetts and duncans of the league. I think they COULD win without webber, but he only helps their chances.

i watched some of webbers games in hte playoffs in past years... he tends to play soft. perhaps that was due to the grind of the full season. maybe he'll play strong since he is somewhat fresh. who knows... i guess we'll have to wait and see.

He had a great offensive game, truly impressive coming back from such a serious injury. However, his lateral mobility blows and as a result his defense pretty much sucked. His hops are somewhat there, but not enough.

The last thing the Kings need is more offense. If Webber doesn't regain his lateral movement the Kings will continue to be a very poor defensive team and will get killed in the playoffs as a result. If they turn up the D they have a great shot at the title.

so your lakers cant play wounded? well i must say the kings sure can. theyve got the best record in the league all without their best player. well at any rate, i look forward to playin you guys in the playoffs. hopefully it will be as riveting as the last time the played, but with different results :(

no sorry, you are wrong. the spurs have one good player in duncan, and a few decent role players. they dont have it this year.

They won it last year the same way with one superstar. Kings will be considered the buffalo bills of the NBA.

oh how quickly you forget about david robinson. true he wasnt in his prime, but he was still a VERY effective defensive player and could still score 15 points a game. when duncan is not in the game the spurs collapse. they will not win it this year. i still <3 turkoglu

Collapse? They just beat a playoff team DENVER by 20 without duncan. THey should have beat Memphis but Ill let that slide. They loss by one but were up by 14 in the 4th. Noone will admit it, but Rasho is doing way better than Robinson in his latter years. Spurs will win it. Remember this thread come playoff time.

i'm not so sure there's a "best player" on the kings anymore.
they have so many guys playing at the same level of the same importance... peja, bibby, etc.

agreed.

Nesterovic at his best will only be a little better than Robinson at his worst.

Robinson > (Nesterovic x 2)

I was very happy to see Webber come out and give the Kings a low post game. Webber looked a little uncomfortable moving around inside so his defense suffered, but that's a confidence thing. He's going to need to log some minutes for his D to come back. Other than that I thought that offensively he came back and didn't cause a stir, Peja still got his points, Miller was great for coming off the bench, and Vlade had a near TD.

Now the Kings, without a doubt, have the best front court in the NBA. They have talent across the board, with depth to boot. Now all we need is to get Bobby Jackson back and healthy and we'll we'll be ready to go. I remember how people said the window for the Kings was closed at the start of the season and now they've changed their minds.

Mark Cuban said something very true last night. He said that the team the healthiest will do the most damage in the playoffs, and he even admitted that last year's series would have been totally different had Webber not been hurt. This still applies. If the Lakers don't get Karl back and if the Kings don't get situated and the Spurs don't get back a healthy Timmy they all won't go far.

Rasho isn't as good of a player or leader as Robinson. Also, even if Robinson was on the decline last year people still respected his presence in the lane and wouldn't go there when he was there. I've seen countless time when a guard will just take it to Rasho because they aren't intimidated by him.

Well, you're half right. The Kings are scary.

I guess they could have used him the other day against the Jazz, huh? ;)

Webber was never known for his defense and he'll never improve defensively so I think they'll hurt more without Brad Miller starting. I would love to see another Lakers vs. Kings playoff match.

GO LAKERS!!!
