The ones you linked to, IMHO, aren't geeky or big. The really huge audiophile ones - have they just plain downsized?

If I saw you wearing those, I would simply think you appreciated good headphones and could care less what anyone else thinks. Rock on.

edit: oh might I add, on a school campus, even moreso. Definitely not geeky.

I'm waiting to get a nice pair of canals before I stop wearing my grados around campus... fVck what people think I like my sound the way it is, nice and lossless... my only complaint about te grados around campus is that they aren't noise cancelling, which I appreciate for any other occasion but there are trains near my school just just at those times I think I could put up with the hiss just to get rid of the train noise.... oh well.

I wear my Sony V700s all the time. Screw everyone else. I can't hear them and my music sounds way better than those "Skreet Style" headphones all the kids wear these days.

I wear my 280s around. I get some wierd looks, but I think it's because I've done an epoxy/fiberglass patch up job on the headband.

I wouldn't go otherwise, and here in MI they double as fantastic ear warmers.

Aside from public transit or LONG walks through the city, I don't understand the need to wear headphones walking around. If they're the huge over-ear kind, that's retarded x100; unless of course they're the massive retro FM/AM ones like Ben Stiller has on the beach scene in Starsky and Hutch with those gigantor antanaes sticking way out up into the sky. Those are the sh!t, and PM me if you know where I can get a pair.

Exactly. Good ear warmers, and much better sound than earbuds is why I wear huge cans with my iPod.
