Oh and as far as the markets recovering you ought to remember that uncertainty never bolsters them. With the hubbub finally over things return to a semblance of order, and yes that would have happened with Hillary too.

Well, it's rent seeker sectors like banks and big pharma rallying, at the expense of competitive sectors like consumer goods and tech which are down.

The problem started nearly 20 years ago...people are not happy with the status quo.

350px-US_Real_Household_Median_Income_thru_2014.png

i don't think anyone is going to change that though. real wages will normalize across the world over the next 100 years. that means the US, which was higher that average, will keep dropping.

Please. The markets viewed Hillary as Obama's third term.

So, how do the American people compensate for that? How do we get a bigger share of the cashflow if not through taxes & redistribution?

That's the crux of the matter.

That's the crux of the matter.

ultimately, i don't think american people will compensate for that by any means except spending or saving less money

She had been accused of crimes as early as First Lady of Arkansas, and was married to a man that had also been accused of many things.

accusations are easy to make. Actual indictments and convictions need more than just "we don't like her so she must be up to something"

Trumps foundation is under investigation
Trumps associate is under federal investigation for russian ties
Trumps foundation has been convicted of a crime
etc etc.

but accusations are enough against hillary

When Republicans don't fix it, the discontent will only grow. The pot is still boiling in 2020 and 2024.
Almost certainly. The amount of landmass the rural counties that supported him covers is so insanely large, there is zero chance that he will be able to deliver on his promises. Its like promising to feed the world or to clean up all the oceans. This is whats so sad. He's a charlatan and his supporters know it or not are being swindled.

Heh. His supporters just feel like they're getting screwed so they want the rest of us to feel the same way. The Trump presidency is a giant "screw you!" from <30% of eligible voters to the rest of us. They're screwing themselves in the process, but they may never figure out that part.

Wait, you think that mattered to voters? The details?
It's anti establishment feeling and Trump stole that air.
Sanders was strong due to the same rebellion.

The stoked populism cuts both ways to be sure. Fox News was on at the gym and they were talking like the GOP has won the cultural and political war for good. There is a distinct lack of understanding about what's happened and the ramifications for the future. The Presidency flipping back and forth for the next few cycles is entirely possible.

Nothing will change. As always.
Said the person who is getting deported to the FEMA interment camps by Alex Jones, Secretary of Internal Security. The alt-right is a movement that has revealed its true colors. Despotic Military power, or death/interment at work camps.

My FB's sure taking a beating. It will be back up next quarter. Getting uncertainty out of the way made the rally. It's weird how some investors think.

Obama doubled down on debt. And did little to stop ISIS.

Except, you know, for the fact that ISIS has been beaten back to the point where it's losing its major cities (Mosul is its last large stronghold) and otherwise clearly on the decline. You can say that Obama's administration didn't adequately deal with ISIS early on, but "did little to stop ISIS" is an outright lie.

Take deep breath.

Repubs don't have a super majority in the Senate.
Now we get to filibuster Trumps crazy ideas like the the Repubs filibustered Obama's.
Hey, at least you admitted that Obama had crazy ideas. :D

I still get amused when lefties refer to W as Bush Jr. He is not a Junior. Know who is? Albert Arnold Gore, Jr.

You are forgetting over 5000 of our soldiers didn't survive Bush Jr.
Good point. If we must set afire Middle Eastern nations - and apparently we must - I much prefer the Obama plan of doing it on the cheap.

Of course we will and it could be a good thing in the long run. It may dissuade parties from taking the electorate for granted next time. Probably not, but just maybe this is a catalyst if people don't go all Chicken Little on us.
Let us hope.

"We" get to filibuster?

So life is all about politics and scoring points? This is the kind of thinking that has created such a monstrosity of the system we call "US Politics." It's this US vs THEM attitude.

Here's the thing: There are no Democrats or Republicans. They are two sides on the same corrupt coin. Doesn't matter who wins, it will be a loss for everyone that is not considered an elite.

With any luck he'll just be a bumbling incompetent who does nothing worse than starting two wars and torpedoing the economy.
