i've gotten that from 3 of my girl friends the past couple of weeks. these are girls that i'm pretty tight with and have casual lunch/dinner with on a very regular basis.

now, does the "we should get together and have dinner sometime" mean what i think it means?

Replace "we should get together" with "I want to screw your brains out" and "and have dinner sometime" with "at my place tonight"

At least that's how I translate woman talk

translated: your penis is large and my gaping void of womanly love needs to be filled.

It probably doesn't mean what you think (or want) it to mean. If they are good friends, it probably just means that they want to have dinner with you. Why do most guys read so deeply into everything?

well, one of them said that last night AFTER we had dinner. the others under similar circumstances.

Yeah if you already have casual lunch/dinner with them on a very regular basis then it probably means just what they said, "have some dinner" and just that.

see, that's what's weird. generally we'll call each other up and just go. this is a bit too "announced" from what i'm used doing with them.

Because most guys want to plunge so deeply into everything.

you guys are fools. the reason why i'm asking is because they're my FRIENDS. there's no misconception about that on my part. nor would i pursue anything further. i'm just wondering how i should handle this.

If they are friends, you shouldn't need to know how to handle it. Make plans for dinner, have fun and go home...ALONE. If they want something and you don't, then send 'em packing. If they want something you do, then invite them in. What exactly is the problem here?

ha! :)

but really, this question is a bit more complicated. i previously just said no because *usually* if you are already friends with them already and they just casually ask that. i wouldn't think there's any reason to think more of it. if a girl wants u to see her as more than friends, she will either straight out talk to u about it (ok, odds are that won't happen hehe) or there will be a lot of other little signs, like she wants to hang out with u a lot more than she normally does, she tries harder to make herself look better, dresses better, laughs at your jokes, EVEN when they are not funny :p, etc. i mean if u are seeing those extra signs and she is asking u to dinner more often than she normallly does. then maybe it does mean what u think it does ;) of course, i can't speak for the girl. who knows what they are thinking!

weezergirl - thanks, now i'm even more confused. :p most of those signs have been exhibited. especially the dressing up and looking more feminine bit. it would be like you changing from jeans/tshirt to a skirt and sweater, dress, etc.

the problem is that i don't want to lead them on, and i also don't want them to feel "rejected". like i said before, we generally call each other up and it's more like "let's go to ____ for dinner/lunch." not the "we should get together and have dinner sometime". and since i am a guy, i would rather not put myself in such a tempting situation. don't wanna complicate things.

Maybe you shouldn't think so highly of yourself and let the chips fall where they may? Just a thought. :p
