Economic predictions are ridiculously hard to make accurately under good circumstances. Throw in the cluster-truck we had last year and it basically became impossible. The Obama admins biggest sin in this regard was not passing the stimulus bill, it was overselling the effect the stimulus would have on employment short term. We knew months ago that these projections were probably too optimistic.

But the upside is that employers are shedding jobs at a slower pace. But of course we will probably see a slight drop as some retailers pick up seasonal employees... but I wonder if that would have much of an effect on the numbers. Or even if seasonal employees will be needed this year.

I would rather give breaks to those who create jobs and actually pay taxes than give entitlements to those 47% of the tax base who pay nothing and have no skin in the game.

The Democratic Party Wasted the first Stimulus. Most of the money was consumed by the government and never made it to the people at the bottom. So a vote for a stimulus is a vote for feeding the pig we know as government. Do not feed the pig!
