At least they are not spewing nonsense that the economy is strong everyday like your Republican heroes.
You must be new around here if you think I'm a Republican. The economy *is* recovering in many ways. Employment is always the last thing to catch up.

They are either completely incompetent or their plan is working just fine.
Economic predictions are ridiculously hard to make accurately under good circumstances. Throw in the cluster-truck we had last year and it basically became impossible. The Obama admins biggest sin in this regard was not passing the stimulus bill, it was overselling the effect the stimulus would have on employment short term. We knew months ago that these projections were probably too optimistic.

It is actually a lot higher than 10.2% . Some of the figures include things like , X producer sold 20 new uniforms to a company. So that company must have added 20 new jobs !

it's 17.5% if you include people who stopped looking for a job or people working part-time but not by choice.

From Reuters.

But the upside is that employers are shedding jobs at a slower pace. But of course we will probably see a slight drop as some retailers pick up seasonal employees... but I wonder if that would have much of an effect on the numbers. Or even if seasonal employees will be needed this year.
congress would have accomplished more stimulus by passing out free viagra samples, then they did with thier last stimulous bill.

But attacking his character because a projection is off by a percent or two is simply partisan hackery.
Not to stir shit, but wouldn't a projection of 8% and a reality of 10% be a 25% ([10-8]/8) error, or is my brain just not on yet?

yea, we should stick to that trickle down dogma. It worked so well last time...
As opposed to what? I hope you're not rooting for the current policy of "too big to fail" and paying off the top wealth under the guise of saving the world.

I would rather give breaks to those who create jobs and actually pay taxes than give entitlements to those 47% of the tax base who pay nothing and have no skin in the game.

Magnificent distortion- basically a lie.

Total taxes are what matter, not just federal income taxes, and even the lowest incomes pay all kinds of regressive taxes.

You'd be pretty dim indeed if you didn't recognize that, something I doubt, so you're just spewing rightwing talking points as if they actually made sense.

Funny you talk about how the lower 47% have no skin in the game but that is where your grunts come from. Seems like a functional system eh? The poor go to war and die and the rich make money and pay taxes?

Ok, 47% pay no federal income taxes, happy?

They have no skin the the game regarding federal spending.

GOP talking point? Try CNN.

^ ...says the level 1 sys tech gamer from Minny. :D
And you accuse me of making things up...

You seem to have an inferiority complex, constantly attempting to belittle anyone who disagrees with you. It's amusing, though a little sad. I feel genuinely bad for you.

^ Note the emoticon, I was making fun of your writing style. You know, random irrelevant comments that add nothing to a discussion. Frankly, I wonder if you've ever written more than 5 sentences in a post in P&N. Seems like it's just a bunch of sad 1-liners, and about pond scum this time? Meh. Stalk someone else, but this time make sure it's someone you can win an argument with. You've wimped out of debate here often enough to the point where it just gets boring replying to your inane posts that don't change. But Paulbots tend to be stupid ideologues unfortunately.

The Democratic Party Wasted the first Stimulus. Most of the money was consumed by the government and never made it to the people at the bottom. So a vote for a stimulus is a vote for feeding the pig we know as government. Do not feed the pig!

What we need is an audit of what happened to the last stimulus! I think someone needs to go to jail.

This forum used to be an interesting place for debate. As it stands, infested with people like you, it's not worth more than 5 sentences. There hasn't been a good debate here in years, just two groups of children slinging mud at one another. Random jabs are the only thing this forum is good for.

How in the hell do you find accurate figures like that (people working part-time but not by choice)??? Estimates are not helpful and cherry picked.
