We need more modern type fps shooters

Imagine the gameplay of Call of Duty with modern warfare.

We have all these WWII shooter but not enough modern battle fps shooters.

i agree. i'm not so big on the sci-fi shooters or the zombies/mutants shooters. give me real world guns and human enemies.

Yeah, that's why I was hoping a PC BF game was in the works, but DICE seems to be working on Console games. :/

I think that barrel's pretty much tapped out. The thing now is modern shooters.

I'd like a first person shooter with realism as the main focus. No health paks scattered throughout, no wave after wave of alien invaders and no carrying 8 differen't weapons unless it was possible to do so.

I imagine the game would be more focused on the story, use of different weapons and varied levels/landscapes.

Maybe this wouldn't even be considered an FPS since you wouldn't be constantly killing 1,000's of enemies.

Does anyone here know how to make mods? You could probably make a modern combat type mod for BF1942. You might even be able to mod up call of duty with a modern combat theme. I'm surprised those companies haven't thought of making them....

I personally think the FPS genre is getting squeezed dry. It's just "more of the same" with better graphics every year.

Modern warfare is an after thought to these games. COD franchise is a WWII franchise. Imagine if it was a modern warfare franchise.

BF2, CS... these are great. But these are multiplayer games.

What about single player for a war like desert storm? Iraq?

Blackhawk down? (besides that 1 horrible game)

It is not dry at all. There are a lot of things that can be implented and improved upon with the coming increases in technology.

Unless BF stands for something else, there already is a Battlefield game for the PC, its called Battlefield 2...

they even have a WWII, Vietnam era, and futuristic version of it as well.

There is, it is called Red Orchestra. No bunny hopping, slow paced, you have know idea how many rounds you have left (unless you count the shots), etc.
