We need moar threads about finding craigslist steals

They would be quickly dominated by Jlee, JCH13, and Black2NA.

"oh look found a $500 Supra TT, replaced the starter relay and it runs great! came with 3 spare 2JZ-GTEs too!"

"oh look another perfect CTS-V for $10k"

"Oh look a free WRX!"

Well, a few weeks ago, I found a new 2013 GT500 on craigslist, and promptly purchased it the next day, but that was msrp, not a steal, does that count?

work has been kicking my ass so little posting. Sorry brothers.

Did pick up a 2004 expedition eddie bauer for 1k with three plugs that wouldnt come out and clogged cats.

Its my new DD.

Plugs took three days to get out. Cats cost me about 600 bucks. Winter beater with heated seats for less than 2k.

Friends who talk you into buying everything...

what are they up to anyways?

I've been working on my house that I bought in July, then we all had a Lemons race, then I was helping work on someone else's Miata, and then I got my property tax bill. Hooray!

I know the feeling man, We had to fire our nanny who watched our triplets last month and I had to work from home for two weeks till I got them into a daycare. While I was working from home the GD inspector came to the shop and hit me with huge fines.

Good times

Here's what I consider a steal from Craigslist:

Not a car, but it has 4 wheels.

2002 Polaris 50 ATV

Advertised last Friday. Looks good, won't start. Dude was asking 300. "average" NADA retail is over 600. I got it for 225.

He was told it needed a stator, which I verified myfelf. Dealer price for the part was 170. I just bought a brand new kit...stator, coil, and starter off Ebay for 85 bucks, shipped. Easy to put on. Score!

My son will be happy on Christmas day, I think.

"Nevertheless, comments calling this the American BMW cropped up throughout the test."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_LS

"It was the first Lincoln in decades to offer an optional manual transmission(V6 model only). With its available V8 power, rear wheel drive, and near 50/50 weight distribution, the LS was an attractive alternative to European sports sedans.[4]"

It's NOT an M3, and I'm NOT saying that they have similar 'ring times or exhibit identical performance. However, they share many over-arching design choices (RWD, IRS, balanced weight, aluminum suspension components, etc) so they are comparable with a definite American twist in the LS.

The M3 is a bit lighter and has more power, so it is definitely the straight-line king. But it only has a small advantage in turning and braking, and that might go away depending on tire choice.

And there are bolt-on boosting kits (supercharger I think?) that get the LS into 400+whp territory on the stock long-block. It's not a bad little car.

Calling the LS an "American BMW" is not the same as calling it an M3. They meant a regular BMW sedan.

The 2000 LS is not even close to the M3 in any category.

Our parting thoughts? The Lincoln LS is not as engaging to drive as a BMW, but it is much more so than the Cadillac Catera or any other Yank-badged Euro-pretender.
