Not being defensive for the Mods.

More like the fact that the question has been asked originally of and answered by the Mods.

Given the amount of time that has elapsed and the original Mod response, it would seem that those that can provide the answer are unable/unwilling to do so.

Therefore why continue to beat a dead horse.
Let common sense reign and drop the subject. To continue to push the issue makes one look like a fool.

Your philosophy of "never question authority" is growing tiresome.

Four years of effort that I've put into this forum are gone. But what surprises me more is that Dwell, a HUGE contributor to the forum and the webmaster of http://pics.bbzzdd.com is being treated like crap just like the rest of us.

We're not asking the MODs for an explanation. We're asking ANYONE at Anandtech for some shred of information that would explain why our ~75,000 cumulative posts went "poof."

And if ANYONE was going to answer; they would have by now.

The lack of information being reported indicates as much as a response would. People who were affected are SOL and should plan on moving on.

This is probably true, but then why are you still here? I understand probably no answer is going to be forthcoming. I also understand the mods have done all they can. I am not asking the mod's for any additional information or help. I am asking Anand and Jason for help and/or information. They seem very nice and helpfull at other times, and always seem to care what we think, so maybe they will eventually choose to help out those hurt by this issue. I know you make a good point in regards to the mods, but I don't see why you would ever wish for a vacation to those posting here, if the posting is kept polite. That would be the worst sort of "punishing the victim" response.
 
I do not know if this helps at all, but while i was investigating similarities between the missing accounts using google's chaches (userid, join dates, posting in particular threads, etc), I found that the posts from the missing accounts (and possibly the accounts themselves) still do exsist on the main anandtech page in old news and article comments.
