The Federation has implemented the same self-government (plagiarised the wording and everything) on accepting new members. As Russ says, it not about elitism, quite the opposite. We just don't want to uspet people with the way we have fun.
MT's are all about fun. We crack hard, assimilate hard and party hard. It keeps us here at TA and gives us extra incentive to take TA to the top and then to stay there. The Feds have quadrupled their weekly output in a matter of months and most of this power has come from new assimilations - not from compiling effort extant from the beginning of the MT.
People wanting to join an MT and falling within that "excluded" group may now feel a bit "left out". I would like to see a few more MT's spring up to help out here. The existing teams will jump in to offer help to get you set up, but all it really takes is a decision to do it.
Star Trek themes abound at the moment but there is room for more:
Vulcan - For logical types that don't wish to emotional about their MT, US elections or other trivial pursuits.😉
Klingon - Want to take on all other MT's, the bigger the better!🙂
Khan - wrath and revenge figure prominently 😛
Romulan - organised, secretive, powerful and hostile to intruders into their space.:|
